I found this area in Yamagata, which is supposed to be snowy this time of year.

So early December is when I started booking this.

I got the room book, I got the ticket book, I got the whole schedule done Before, when we were dating, I used to be able to do this more often.

Like, I gave her a surprise birthday party once, I surprised her for her proposal, and I haven't really done a good surprise in a while.

So this time, I packed all of our luggage in advance, I kept the secret deep in my heart, and then I surprised the love of my life for Valentine's Day.

Even though we've been married for 12 years now, almost 12 years, I'm gonna keep doing this into 22 years, into 40 years, I'm gonna keep surprising her for as long as she lets me.

And then you woke me up at 7am, and you're like, get ready, get to the choppa.

The next thing I knew, there was a taxi, and you packed a bag.

No, that's just the new amount we've decided upon.

And then you got us on tuition consent, and now it's snowing outside.

And you said the Valentine's Day surprise, but I don't know where we're going.

I am not appropriately dressed for this weather.

Thinking that I would give it to you on Valentine's Day.

But now, you snatched me away on the 13th.

So I had to really grab it quickly, and I put it in a bag.

So now, your Valentine's Day gift smells a little bit like curry.

It's like we're in a rustic, but not rustic, Japanese winter lodge in this, like, wonderland.

So the ducky surprised me, and we're currently in Yamagata.

It's an area and a prefecture that we've actually never been to before.

And we've always wanted to go to an onsen in the wintertime.

And let me show you guys something over here.

I'm not sure if you can see just how winter it is.

If I jumped out there, I'd never get out.

This is our little closet, and it comes with yukatas.

And for those of you that might be on the Simon size, don't worry.

When you come to an onsen like this, you can be like, Hey, do you have anything, like, extra, extra, extra large?

And you know what's great about the beds?

Ducky, this is an absolutely lovely surprise.

And it's a surprise that I get to share with everybody as well.

Because I'm going to go through this whole thing surprised.

But that's how you know you came to a good place.

So I would have worn boots and been like, Look at my travellish sparkly boots.
