This is the Akita Dining Namahage Restaurant.

That is a Namahage right here at the entrance of the restaurant.

This is a, I guess you'd say a really unique dining experience that you can enjoy here in Tokyo without having to go to Akita.

I heard that there's even a show where you get a chance to see them.

We're going to experience what it's like to eat at a Namahage restaurant.

Oh, there they are on the lanterns here, the chochin.

This bar has a lot of Japanese sake in the back there too.

But I'm just panning around here and it does not seem like a Tokyo restaurant.

This isn't, this doesn't seem like a typical Tokyo restaurant.

This is very much like being in the countryside.

You don't get this at a lot of the other Tokyo restaurants because you got to feel like you're in Akita.

Alright, and in this corner, we have Ruth Aang.

Welcome to Akita Dining Namahage restaurant.

And they say that there's a show that's going to start.

They're going to be making an appearance.

And and part of the reason why they do this is to scare the kids so that they pay attention to their parents.

John, I think both of you and I have to leave because we're the bad kids.

They're gonna be dragging me in the woods here.

Now we have some really delicious food that they've prepared for us here.

This is a very special dish called Kiritanpo and I wanted to show it to you before they actually put this into the nabe.

It's a nabemono where we're gonna, you know, boil it and then eat it.

This is a iburikako, which is smoked daikon pickles, which are so good, great with sake.

And this looks like some of the local chicken and pork that they have here.

I don't know what what's gonna happen tonight.

I am super excited to let me sit down here.

I'm doing great and I noticed over here, do you think that might be a yuzu related thing?

It's like a spicy citrus, most delicious condiment in the history of condiments.

They've got the it's almost like a fermented fish kind of situation going on there, right?

Yeah, so these dishes here usually are complimentary, right?

They'll come as you sit down part of the table charge.

It's part of the part of the excitement of it.

Apparently, I guess they're coming straight from here.

I don't want to face my back to the door.

I picked here because I don't want the monsters.

This restaurant has been around for 17 years.

It's an old traditional house that was moved from Akita to the ninth floor of this building in Ginza of all places.

These cabinets and this table and everything was probably used for many generations in Akita.

So we're touching the same wood as like many, many grandmas.

Just when I came in here, this space, this amount of space you don't get in normal Tokyo restaurants.

So the fact that it's in Ginza and you have this kind of space makes it pretty special.

I also saw that one of the guests who came here, there's a bunch of pictures was David Beckham, who was here about six years ago.

I guess David Beckham didn't have a chance to go up to Akita.
