To Kosovo now, which reached a landmark of sorts today, as lawmakers failed for the 50th consecutive time to launch the process of forming a new government.

Monday's session was the latest attempt to break a political deadlock since parliamentary elections were held in February.

According to law, members of Parliament have 30 days to set in motion the process of forming a new government.

So far, it's been more than three months of fruitless attempts.

More on that, let's cross over to Pristina, where DW reporter Vjosa Cekini is standing by.

In front of Kosovo's Parliament building, Vjosa, 50, that's 5-0, failed attempts to agree on a new parliamentary speaker.

Since the last elections in February, the members of Parliament of Kosovo, they have not been able to vote to agree for parliamentary speakers.

So, 50 times they tried to find a solution, but they failed again, even now.

So, the political deadlock is continuing even now.

The reasons are the differences between the two political blocs.

We have the left-wing nationalist party, Vedvendosje, led by Albin Koti, which got 42% of the votes of the elections.

And we have also the right-wing bloc, which belongs to the biggest opposition parties, LDK and PDK, which got 45% of the votes in the last elections.

So, Vedvendosje, as the strongest party in the country, has the right to name the candidate for the speaker of Parliament, which is Albulena Hadjiu.

But the opposition parties refused and reject her with the comments that she is a divisive politician.

So, on the other hand, Albin Koti don't want to change the name of the candidate, and he's asking for the secret vote in order to go out of the situation.

But in this circumstances, the opposition parties, they are rejecting this.

And in this circumstances, the political deadlock is continuing for three months now.

Now, Kosovo has only become a democracy in 2008.

Is there a danger that people might lose faith in parliamentary democracy altogether over this?

The citizens in Kosovo, they are protesting now for more than two months.

So, even the famous lawyer Arjanit Koci, he even shaved his hairs to say to politicians, enough is enough.

He is worried that this blockade can bring to danger the existence of the state of Kosovo.

And even days ago, he brought donkeys to the Parliament, in front of the Parliament, in order to show the stubbornness of the politicians.

So, basically, according to the citizens of Kosovo, this situation is making them tired.

And not only the donkeys, but even the continuous protests are not changing anything.

Now, any chance of this issue being resolved anytime soon, briefly, if you can?

The president of Kosovo, Djosel Smani, she announced that this week, she will send a request to the Constitutional Court in order to ask for the next steps.

But even court cannot bring politicians together to work, cannot force, basically, politicians to work together.

So, nobody wants new elections in the country, but this seems to be the only option to go out of this mess in the country.
