There are 18 species of penguin, each slightly different, and all live in the Southern Hemisphere.

Most people picture penguins in Antarctica, sliding on their bellies across the snow, congregating on icebergs.

But the Emperor penguin is the only species that breeds and nests in Antarctica through the freezing winter.

Most people picture penguins in snowy environments, but you can find penguins in very warm places, such as Australia.

We have a small island at the base of Victoria in Australia, called Phillip Island.

Well, on this island, you will find a tourist event called the Penguin Parade.

The Penguin Parade is held at sunset each evening, where the world's smallest penguins arrive home each night.

Tourists look on from beachfront stands as the penguins emerge from the waves and waddle across the sand as they trek along their penguin pathways to their burrows.

Now, for all you who are not aware of how hot it is in Australia, we get summer days up to 45 degrees.

Which is easily enough to cook an egg on a car and make bitumen on the road sticky.

Now, I can't speak for the temperatures of other penguin locations around the world, but Australia is well known for its heat.

So if they can live and thrive here, I'm sure they're doing fine in other places around the world.
