Not all theme parks come with roller coasters and cartoon mascots.

In Italy, there's one built entirely by hand.

In Romania, another lies hidden inside ancient salt mines.

And in Singapore, one is filled with over 1,000 surreal sculptures.

These are some of the most unexpected, unforgettable theme parks on Earth.

I'm the creator and executor of this ecological theme park.

Perhaps by observing the movement of nature that there is, a branch that goes down, a bird that flies.

Perhaps I could also make a game out of that movement, and from that moment on, I can enjoy being here.

I can work an hour, a whole day, or a whole month.

Little by little, I get the idea, I get the idea.

Located in Romania, around 400 feet below the town's surface is the Salina Turta, an underground theme park inside one of the oldest salt mines in the world.

Salina Turta is believed to be nearly 2,000 years old.

During its time as a salt mine, it is estimated that over 3 billion tons of salt was excavated from the walls before mining stopped in 1932.

This underground hub has had various uses in the past, from a cheese storage center to a World War II bomb shelter.

But its current usage is perhaps its most unique.

Salina Turta was carefully converted into a subterranean theme park and museum.

This active park includes a 180-seat amphitheater, an underground lake with paddle and rowboats, mini golf course, ping pong tables, and of course, a Ferris wheel.

Over 2 million people have visited since its opening.

The dizzying effect of the place will leave you feeling like you've left reality in this subterranean wonderland.

Hapar Villa is a special kind of theme park located in Singapore.

At this park, you'll find no rides, but instead a diorama delight of over 1,000 statues depicting scenes from Chinese mythology, history and legends.

And for one man, the park has been his work and family for most of his life.

My grandfather and my father were both Chinese.

If you're all alone, the generation behind me wouldn't have time to observe.

From 8 and 10 years old, you fly all day and don't catch much.

Imagine two acres of land that are covered with Las Vegas history, dating from the 1930s up to present day.

The Neon Museum was founded in 1996, and we rescue signs.

There are over 200 signs in the Neon Boneyard.

Las Vegas is a town that is known for imploding all of its hotels and not preserving its history because we're always wanting to move on to the bigger, better, brighter thing.

You see that rusted paint, you see the broken neon, and it's kind of bittersweet.

The folks who designed these are really master craftsmen.

The Yucca Motel, the intricate artwork, the glassblowing that had to go into the design of the actual yucca, the stardust spire reaching up into the sky.

It's becoming an art form that's going away.

We preserve a lot of those memories so people who didn't see the signs actually on the strip are able to come here and get a real sense for what they were like in person.

Nestled in the side of the Ura Mountains, the site of reversible destiny in Japan is an experience park where guests encounter the unexpected.

Shusaku Arakawa and Madeline Ginz and consists of sculptures, pavilions, and constantly changing terrains.

There is an intricate network of 148 paths and 24 types of plants that emphasize the changing of the season, such as cherry blossoms in the springtime and vibrant autumn leaves in the fall.

Some of the attractions include the Critical Resemblance House, which has a map of Gifu Prefecture, a region of central Japan, as a rooftop, and the Reversible Destiny Office that contains an uneven pastel-colored maze and a ceiling that mirrors the design of the floor.

Visitors are encouraged to explore the site with the mindset of a child, to climb, be curious, and discover different visual perceptions.

But because of slanting angles, steep hills, and narrow pathways, the site of Reversible Destiny offers optional helmets to ensure a safe excursion.
