To use the built-in Discord emojis, click the smiley face icon on the right side of the message box.

You can also insert emojis in the text box by typing a colon, followed by a keyword, for example, colon smile will insert a smiling emoji.

Discord also allows server owners to add custom emojis to the menu that any member can use.

Navigate to server settings on the browser or desktop application.

In the menu, select emoji located beneath the role section.

On this page, click upload emoji to drop in the image you want.

Discord by default allows up to 50 custom emojis for a server with more unlocked by having Nitro members join the server.

Once your image has successfully uploaded and given a unique name.

Return to the channel chat to insert it via the menu or by typing in its name after a colon.
