This week I had a few friends visit me here in my dazzling city of Taichung.

Dennis from Channel Super Fun came to visit.

We had pasta and then he left to go somewhere more fun.

What made you choose to do two nights in Kaohsiung but only one night in Taichung?

I asked you on Instagram what you like to do in Taichung and this is what you said.

So today I wanted to figure out what's wrong with Taichung and review some of the most popular tourist attractions in a Taichung classic chill out style.

If you ask a Taiwanese person to name a Taichung tourist attraction, they'll probably say Rainbow Village.

But calling Rainbow Village a village is like calling a vending machine a restaurant.

But it's easily one of Taichung's most recognizable attractions.

So if it's not really a village, then what is it?

Well, when the KMT retreated to Taiwan in the Chinese Civil War, they built these villages for their soldiers and their families to live in.

After a few decades, the houses fell into disrepair and property developers started buying them out.

But one man stood his ground and refused to sell.

Eventually he became bored because, well, he lived in Taichung.

And now lots of people come to see his art.

Some local workers were upset and painted over his art and the old man was too old to paint again, which I think is so mean.

And I think his story is pretty endearing because I like old things.

But if I'm totally honest, most people that live in Taichung will tell you that Rainbow Village just isn't worth visiting because at the end of the day, it's just two colorful houses where Korean tourists get dropped off by the bus load.

Does anyone else look at Koreans to see if they've had surgery?

I put Rainbow Village first on this video to get out of the way because I just don't think it's worth it.

It's going to take you all day to get here and you can see everything in five minutes.

It's only good for taking photos and looking at Koreans.

There's an area where you can write something on a colorful piece of paper and pin it to a wall.

I wrote my authentic heartfelt feelings for Taichung on my paper.

I like the story of Rainbow Village because I like old things.

But as a tourist attraction, it's a one out of five stars.

Honestly, it's a spot where locals like to go and isn't really a tourist spot.

My friends call it Sad Dog Park because they often have dogs here that you can adopt.

It's a more fitting name for this area because while this area is a greenway, there's no calligraphy.

The most popular one was selling snacks because this is Taiwan.

I also saw the most ridiculous looking dog ever.

The park is separated between the people who love my videos and subscribe and the other side, which is for stupid people.

There are many things you can do at our Sad Dog Park, including looking at sad dogs, walk your happy dog, or walk whatever this is and this.

There is also Park 2 nearby, which is better than Park 1 and Park 3 because they don't exist.

Continuing down Sad Dog Park, we can see a temple.

I don't go to temples since I saw the movie Do.

But it's cool to see people pray to their gods.

Going further, we can see various art pieces like this French bulldog.

This dog was a lost dog that roamed the park and no one could find its owner, but the dog spread so much joy to the people of Taichung that they erected this statue, which they painted pink because pink is the color of sadness in France.

This story is really interesting because I just made it up.

There's also many other artworks that I can't explain because their plaques have been replaced with no smoking signs.

I think it's kind of weird to replace them with such a small no smoking sign.

This sign shows all the things you can't do in this park, like have fun.

The rest of the art is weird but cool, I guess.

This one looks like a sand crawler from Star Wars.

The artwork leads you to the famous National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, which I didn't end up making it all the way there because I didn't want to.

This park is great for nice weather, but not many people come here on hot days because you'll get a sunburn-o.

Honestly, I like this park and I rate it a 4 out of 5 stars.

This next place is synonymous with Taichung tourism, gaomei wetlands.

If you don't live here, then you will probably have to take the bus to get here, which takes over an hour depending on the traffic.

Or if you want, you can wait for the MRT, which will take 30 to 40 years because we don't have a line that goes there yet.

We actually only have one line and everyone hates it.

I have my scooter and it took me around 30 minutes to get here.

I parked in front of this interesting shrine and this horse for some reason.

I wanted to use the bathroom but I had to pay $10, which I think is the first time I've had to pay to use the bathroom in Taiwan.

Unlike Calligraphy Greenway, which has no calligraphy, or Rainbow Village, which isn't really a village, gaomei wetlands is indeed some pretty wetland.

I found it pretty difficult to get excited over wetland.

However, my Irish friend loves nature and wetland and was pretty excited about it.

This is because Ireland means wetland in Irish.

You can go ahead and google that if you want because I just made it up.

The entrance to this wetland has some interesting statues of your mom.

There's a boardwalk you can go on that takes you onto the wetland.

This gives you better access to the wetland, so you can see just how wet our land is here in the dazzling city of Taichung.

I decided to wear my flip-flops today, or as they're known in French, Philippe Philops.

All along the sides of the boardwalk are these crabs, which are fun to look at.

Sometimes they scurry into their holes when you walk by.

The tourists were pretty excited about seeing Taichung's biodiversity.

Towards the end of the boardwalk, I noticed the wetlands were moving, and it was actually thousands of tiny crabs walking along the edge of the water.
