And with the cost of things going up, that means the purchasing power of your money is going down. Even though the amount of money you have is the same, that money buys less because of inflation. So inflation can happen for many different reasons, but one of the things that could cause inflation is high demand, or the cost of materials going up. So high demand means lots of people want to buy something, and then low demand means not that many people are interested. So generally, some inflation in an economy is normal.
