  • Hi guys, Chris from Andrew Kane Music.

  • Welcome to my YouTube channel.

  • Today we're going to take a look at Bon Jovi and I'm not Bon Jovi.

  • I don't sing like Bon Jovi I don't sound like him but I can give you a few tips of how to sing that type of songs and hopefully you can after watching this video try it by yourself at home and Or in your car like me because I sing most of the time in the car Which is actually one of the worst places to sing in because there's windows all around the reflection of the sound is not really good But I live in a flat so screaming here or even singing is so not I don't really feel very comfortable but anyway That being said Bon Jovi back in the 90s was not a band that you could tell to your friends That you were you were a fan of Bon Jovi for many of my friends and people I was around it was the like the Justin Bieber of rock really You better it was better for you to say.

  • I'm a Metallica fan Megadeth or wasp like me.

  • I was a huge wasp fan and And yeah, so it's later like back in my 20s early 20s Maybe that I start to listen to Bon Jovi and listen to great albums like New Jersey for example And you amazing work of Richie Sambora also on the guitar And I think it was a it was man.

  • These albums are really great and vocally man That was fantastic like really amazing vocals now They really work together very well Richie Sambora and Bon Jovi and us I tend to believe but it's just my personal opinion That Richie Sambora is actually a way better singer in Bon Jovi if you really listen closely Not even closely, but if you listen to it in technically and all the harmonies and very high harmonies that Richie Sambora was able to do and It's still able to do a man.

  • He hasn't lost most of his voice.

  • Really.

  • He's an amazing singer and In later years when he was still singing with Bon Jovi He was doing a lot of lead vocal parts that Bon Jovi can't do now Much and it's kind of lost a little bit of his of his high notes and but man Living on a prayer is a super high It's a it's a hard song to sing the last high notes of the of the song man.

  • These ones are killers, man It's really really tough song to sing.

  • So but anyway coming back to Bon Jovi.

  • He is an is an amazing Amazing singer really and this is a great song.

  • Always.

  • It's not like it's not a hard song to sing It's not a tough song.

  • It's not complicated and do not complicate it we're going to talk about it and and try to Yes, see how we can sing that song and not panic in front of some of the little high notes that he's throwing here And there so let's take a look at it.

  • It's burning hot in here.

  • I'm sweating like I don't know what it's just About 32 degrees outside.

  • I don't know how far and height is but in a European Degrees it's 32 or something like this.

  • And of course when I'm singing I'm closing my window because I don't want people to hear me Even they're going to hear me singing anyway, so anyway, so still recording on the stuff.

  • Yes, it is.

  • All right Oh, let's watch it always Bon Jovi.

  • It's a live version.

  • Let's do it It's There's one place that I really like it in the recording When he's singing you see I always been a fighter and that he's using a little very little Distortion in his voice you see I've always been a fighter Like this fire a very American way of saying fighter for a European or a French like me It sounds like a fighter like and I really like it.

  • So what you want to do is that you want to bring that little effect that I've explained it in different videos before like you have to It's you have to know how to control that distortion so you can check it out on my patreon page I'm doing I'm giving some Singing lessons when you can find a few tips over there So I want to have time to just go too much into details in this video But that's what really Bon Jovi is doing is using his distortion at some places It's not all the time like in every single word.

  • You see I've always been a fighter, you know, which sounds horrible So you want you want to use distortion as an adding added effect to give to bring a little bit of emotion So let's carry on Can't sing a love song All right, that's the moment where you have to place your voice a bit differently sort of so it's at that moment I can sing a love song like the way it's meant to be But I guess I'm not that good anymore but baby, that's just me and I Will Baby No panic Always So it's a down moment, where is it now I can sing a love song like the way is meant to be Well, I guess I'm not that good anymore.

  • But baby, that's just me.

  • So you will stay here From that moment.

  • Oh, baby.

  • That's just me and didn't always so you don't have to do that a lot of people tend to panic a little bit and do like it would be a Baby, that's just me and I Will love and just you know, you think it goes higher It's good, but you can stay the same the same place for you was my baby.

  • That's just me and I Will love you baby Oh Baby it's the same place.

  • So no panic.

  • No always don't think about it don't stress it just Imagine the high notes are low notes and sometimes this is a trick you can actually work It did work for me when I was seeing some striper songs and super high 80s stuff I was trying to hit some notes that he has in in the album from striper in God We trust if you if you familiar with it It's super high to sing.

  • So I imagined this high note here is actually a low note so and it helps me for my physics not like Like it's impossible and forget about your if you're not an experienced singer it doesn't don't have a very developed chest voice Just don't try to do Always is you're gonna kill yourself man.

  • You have to learn how to get to mix and your head voice It will help you at least until you develop more chest voice.

  • So anyway, let's carry on Amazing tone man, Bon Jovi It's got this very possible No, what else see He never sings live that place when is there I'll be there today was a shot which is actually the hardest part to sing and He doesn't he's never seen it live actually even back in Oh Semper I wish I was him and his words are mine Some of us sings the lower harmony This guy's on Yeah, Richie Sambora is an amazing singer if you Look at to the life they've done in Moscow back in 1989 Which was I don't remember do you have and there was Marty crew over there?

  • It was Ozzy Osbourne It was a great live show and man.

  • It was back in 1988.

  • I think it was just released, New Jersey This was one of the best act of this entire festival for me It's always the same placement for the local He knew us to shine and I we love you It's playing with his voices I Great song guys.

  • I'm just stopping here because it lasts for seven minutes.

  • But anyway, it's always the same.

  • So now coming back to it You see Bob Bon Jovi he has a very particular voice very popular tone if you listen to how he's speaking even he has this and he's sort of very noisy sound and This is actually actually exactly what he uses when he's singing his song when you can hear it all the time He has an amazing tone and Nick amazing Vocal technique since day one you listen to his very early albums even it was it was great, man I'm a fan of Bon Jovi type of vocals really inspired me in many songs.

  • I do But anyway, thank you guys for watching.

  • And by the way coming back just just last thing I mean congrat to Bon Jovi for reinventing himself in the 90s because Many bands that's 1996 in 1996 Many 90% of the bands in of the 80s just disappeared.

  • They're all split.

  • They all lost Their Record labels contract they lost everything manage it there's been they've been chasing the next 10-15 years trying to get a little bit of success and But many of them just just quit the whole thing.

  • So Yes, shout out to Bon Jovi for just reinventing himself all the time and that's four years before It's my life who just took the band to another level and out another era Anyway, thank you guys for watching If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask in the comment section below about vocals or you can check out my patreon page Chris from NGK music signing out guys.

  • Cheers Yeah
