I'm traveling deep into China's most remote region, but the culture here doesn't feel like China at all.

I want to share a meal with locals, hear their stories, and attend one of their epic wrestling matches.

Along the way, we can figure out how to preserve Inner Mongolia's cultural heritage before it's too late.

From Beijing, I'm catching a flight to a remote town called Tanglao, where my local friend Chingle is waiting to receive me.

I have no idea what's going to happen in the next few days.

Nomad people, all Mongolian people, nature, cattle, animals, horses, that way, that way.

I've seen one or two words on the signs, and that's it.

This is the first time I've been to a Chinese city that is not called Beijing, Shanghai, or Guangzhou, and it feels very different.

There's no like sparkly, shiny, fancy buildings anywhere, which is awesome.

Inner Mongolia is an autonomous province, which means it has some local control over its own affairs, but is still governed by Beijing.

It is a beautiful region known for its vast landscapes and colorful traditions.

Despite its name, the region is predominantly Han Chinese, and Mongolian culture is rapidly disappearing.

Today, only 1% of Mongolian students go to school in their native language, and many historical sites are in danger of being lost due to the impact of modernization.

Speaking of, I am shocked to find a teenage game center on the roads to my guide's village.

There's all these kids, literally smoking cigarettes and just playing games.

We've been driving for about five hours, and we just pulled over to look at the beautiful grasslands here.

The craziest fact that I've just learned is that Inner Mongolia is more than five times the size of Germany, just this province in China.

All right, bro, so we're getting close to your town?

After this village, nobody speaks Chinese, and then no Chinese people, all Mongolian community.

As we're driving, there's just cows and horses crossing the roads, just so peacefully.

Mongolia is a country that I only visited for like three days, so I always wanted to go back.

And even though we're in China, I feel like I'm back in Mongolia.

It was a long, long journey to get here, but a nice journey.

We sell a little product over here, and then here we go, this way.

It's very peaceful here, like no traffic.

It's like pretty comfy, fresh air, pretty calm, horse riding.

The seasons are really different here, like.

And then in the summer, it's like pretty hot, like 30, sometimes 40, sometimes.

The old folks just hang out over there with their grandsons.

And then when they're young, they rest every day.

During that time, it's like no internet, no television, and then they rest, horseback riding, racing.

But nowadays, you know, we got phones, television, and everybody's addicted to short videos.

Do you feel like your culture is dying out because of that technology?

Before, people like maintaining Mongolian traditional culture.

But nowadays, tech is literally hacking their brain.

But you know what's not sad is this amazing view in front of us.

You know where I come from is like a desert.

The only thing more impressive than the nature is the heartwarming people.

I'm eager to sit down with some of the villagers and dive into their stories, starting with Chingal's precious grandmother.
