Our lodging was Hakone Retreat Foray and our transport was a rental car but you can take a train and get some discounts down below in the article that I provided for you.

Our purpose is to connect with nature because it's been way too long.

Yeah, so we're gonna head out there and go for a drive and just relax.

There's nothing really special about this video except you're gonna see some amazing, beautiful, gorgeous nature.

To get an idea of our plans today, the first thing we're going to be doing is going to brunch at the Glass Forest Museum, Tokaido Road Hakone Checkpoint, relax at our hotel, dinner at Tabea's, and onsen hot spring bath experience.

It takes about an hour and a half to get there from Tokyo by car, depending on traffic.

I, for one, have never been to Hakone before.

There's tons to do there that we don't actually do but our mission was to just relax and go with what the day brought us.

Our hotel was amazing so we didn't want to take time away from enjoying what we reserved.

Our itineraries are quite loose as we're more of a spontaneous couple but these travel videos are meant to recap our day.

I haven't been to Hakone ever in my life so, wow, what is that?

If we could go there and take photos that would have been so cool but it looks like it's blocked off, maybe it's not Guys, oh my gosh, I might heart, like, this is, one day is not enough.

Hakone, surprisingly, has many Italian restaurants so you'll find a lot of pizza and pasta places along the way.

This one was one of the best dishes I had in quite some time.

Okay, so we just finished our amazing meal at this amazing Italian restaurant and I had tomato.

I'm a little bit bloated, a little bit inflamed but it's not as bad as it used to be so, yay!

Okay, so now we're gonna look around a little bit.

Hakone Glass Forest is one large Italian and French inspired museum with all sorts of vintage art pieces.

You'll see paintings and glass art in every corner with a sort of mystical royal vibe.

I don't know about you but I love museums.

If you really take the time to observe you'll notice all types of energies coming from the art in front of you.

Yuji's name means twin dragon and we noticed that there are two dragons so it's the Yuji cup.

In Japan there's something called kodawari, the art of small detail.

It's the perfectly imperfect attempt to make something as great as can be but realizing at the same time that perfection is just an illusion.

Perfection is improving, enhancing, innovating with new perspectives.

There's like, back in the day, it's in their patrol outfit.

So I just went into this museum and this is actually the border between Tokyo and Hakone, right?

And it's a check, Japan has 37 checkpoints I think for that.

And the primary reason, you guys aren't going to believe this, the primary reason for these borders and these checkpoints is to keep women from leaving Tokyo.

Because back in the day, they were held hostage by the feudal lords in Japan.

So if women tried to leave because they were being held hostage and they were unhappy, then they have to pass through these checkpoints and if they get caught, then they get punished.

I don't know what happened back in that day because it must have been so hard.
