  • Episode 16

  • Good morning, everybody so today. I have a weird swollen throat, and I don't know why I don't feel sick or anything

  • And it doesn't feel like anything is going to happen. It might just be allergies

  • I have no idea getting ready to leave to go shopping

  • I'm going to get some sushi and then I'm going to get my nails done for the first time in Tokyo preparing to leave for La in like a couple days and

  • I'm

  • Freaking out because I don't want to get sick, but at least I have some time

  • I have Friday and Monday in the morning to get whatever medication. I need before I hop on that plane

  • Yeah, it's like allergy season so like I don't know it could just be allergies

  • I'm hoping it's just allergy not really excited to head into the city

  • I'm not a big fan of heading into the city, but you know that's where all the clothing shops are

  • I'm making some quick breakfast. I'm going to finish my hair, and then I'm going to leave

  • I have a lot to do today alright. I'm ready to go got to pay a bill take out some money and head to Shibuya and

  • Do some shopping and then go to the nail salon. I'm not sure if they're going to let me film inside

  • I emailed them about it, so hopefully they'll get back to me, but if not I'll ask permission when I get there

  • It's actually pretty warm outside today. I wasn't expecting this, but I guess spring is coming, so maybe that's why my throat is feeling weird

  • Tokyo is a city where people come for work

  • I remember my host sister's dad and brother moved to Tokyo and lived there without them while they worked

  • The dad would only come home every once in a while and provide for the family

  • This is normal in Japan. Tokyo is where it's at when it comes to having a successful career

  • I love Tokyo for certain reasons. It's great for networking

  • It has a large expat community, and there's tons of things to do, but for some reason

  • I just don't feel at peace here. There's just something missing

  • This place is food heaven. There's so much stuff. I'm trying to find a bathroom, but I still can't find a bathroom, but everything looks super good

  • Honestly, when I come to Shibuya or any part of the city, my anxiety level skyrockets

  • Just because I'm so like not into big crowds or anything like that. Coming out here takes a lot for me

  • I moved here because of my ex-boyfriend, so I never really expected to move here. I really love Nagoya

  • Yeah, I can feel the tension rising

  • I feel like I manage anxiety pretty well, but that doesn't mean I don't have it anymore

  • Living here can be exhausting, but this place gave me a lot of opportunities, and I have a lot of great memories

  • It's gonna be so dead in here, I'm so excited

  • Everything is 30% off. They better have some spring stuff, I swear to God

  • Kawaii

  • So cute

  • Oh my God

  • I seriously love the shopping here, but sometimes I feel like Tokyo is just one big mall

  • People just shop all the time and the prices are so high in Tokyo

  • I forget sometimes to enjoy nature and take a break from all the lights and shiny things

  • I'm gonna go to H&M and see what they have, because I still haven't found good shoes yet

  • Oh God

  • This is like

  • So stressful and there's a car behind me and I almost got hit

  • But yeah, okay, we're gonna go to H&M and we're gonna look for some more clothes and hopefully I'll find some shoes

  • That's what I really need. Oh, I forgot to get a belt

  • Way too early to go to my appointment, so I'm just gonna walk around and see what they have and

  • Yeah, didn't find too much. Everything was way too expensive so

  • We're gonna try on some clothes when I get home just because I need to pack for LA

  • So it's not that crowded today in Shibuya, which is kind of nice, but

  • When it is really crowded I get so anxious

  • It's ridiculous. Tokyo is very busy

  • Tokyo is just definitely

  • It's not for me. Like I think I see myself moving somewhere else in the future. Maybe in a year or two

  • I think I'm gonna get sushi now and

  • Sushi is right down the street and I always go here by myself

  • Anyway, so I'm kind of craving some sushi

  • So I always come here by myself when I'm like finished with work or whatever like it's like the easiest thing and it's like a place that you can go when you just kind of want to be alone. There's a lot of places like this. So, yeah.

  • I mean it looks so good

  • Anyway, I'm glad that I ate early because later on I'm gonna meet Kel and we're gonna eat something at Blue Jam Cafe again

  • We're gonna go to a different one. Yeah

  • Gretchen and I have been talking this morning, and I think I'm gonna meet up with her because she's out already

  • And so yeah, it'd be nice to have some company. It's getting so much busier. I'm at Shibuya 109 right now

  • This place is great for shopping for clothes

  • But it is a little pricey above my price range at least but I might go take a look around just a little bit

  • So I'm waiting for Gretchen

  • I

  • Love this liner. It's like very Sakura season 900 yen that is so cheap for Japan

  • Look at that eyeliner, it's so pretty they have like the nicest L'Oreal section ever

  • Okay, so I'm with Gretchen now

  • Don't know how this vlog is going. I was having like major anxiety earlier because of the crowds

  • I can't stand Shibuya. Now we're gonna walk to Megiddo. That's where my appointment is

  • And you're a trooper for coming with me

  • To watch me get my nails done. Yeah, I'm excited. I actually never got like I'm getting gel nails

  • So like I've never gotten gel before have you?

  • I did it myself once

  • And it turned out pretty good

  • It's really cool though the way it like just hardens

  • Really? I'm excited

  • We're gonna walk to Megiddo, and it's like 30 minute walk, but I like walking because you can discover a lot of really cool places

  • Down the streets and everything and maybe we'll find like a cute cafe to stop by or something who knows

  • Kelly's not sure if she's getting sick, or if it's just hay fever season, so we're gonna oh whoops

  • We're gonna have this drink right here. It's good if you have a cold

  • Yes

  • Oh my god

  • Train!

  • It has all this bad crap in it

  • Well it's good for you, but it's bad

  • I'm not even sure if this actually works, but it makes me feel better

  • It's actually kind of nasty and they come in these little bottles like this. Can I sniff it?

  • You can it kind of smells like candy. It's like not that bad. Oh, yeah, it smells like orange candy. Yeah

  • It's like an orange sort of scent, okay

  • The aftertaste it's like good when you drink it, but then like the aftertaste is like really weird

  • Yay, make me feel better

  • Like the cutest little building and I think it is a hair salon

  • They're so pretty can I have a house like this we're following this map

  • And it's leading us down alleyways, but I love Japanese alleyways cuz look how cute they are like they're so quiet and peaceful and

  • You're not gonna get murdered. Doesn't feel like Tokyo

  • Look a hole

  • I wonder what it's going to be

  • I feel weird being in front of someone's house though. Always take time to pamper yourself

  • I forget to do things for myself a lot of the time and it's a great way to unwind and put a smile on your

  • Face at the end of the day

  • Look at this place melon bread

  • We have such a sweet tooth it's so bad

  • My first ever nail appointment in Japan

  • And I just wanted to do something nice to pamper myself before I go to LA

  • So I braved the busy city today to go to this nail salon, and it's an unmarked house. That's yellow

  • That's all they said the one thing about Tokyo

  • Is there's so many like narrow streets and so many cars live in the Inaka

  • Or you live in a countryside Inaka means countryside in Japanese

  • I think there's just less cars less people. I miss my Nagoya

  • Well, I'm probably gonna move back in a couple years for sure. I

  • Know Nagoya was the best

  • It's just like the community like everybody was so nice. She used to live in Nagoya, too

  • Yeah, and like the community was just nicer like everybody was just very close to each other

  • I had a lot more Japanese friends in Nagoya. Yeah me too like way more than I do now

  • Because like Tokyo is such a busy city so like a lot of people don't have the time to hang out here in Nagoya

  • Everybody was a lot more laid-back. I think it would be nice to like move back again

  • It's so beautiful

  • It's like in the middle of nowhere, but it's so quiet and so gorgeous and all right

  • Where are we

  • Thought maybe it looks like this one, but

  • It says a house on the corner though, and that's not really a corner. Yeah, I mean, it's like almost

  • So maybe it's this one I think it's this one is there a right yes, maybe this is it I'm not sure

  • I

  • Think this is it

  • I'm so sorry. I was looking everywhere. I was like, oh

  • That's okay

  • Yeah, that's okay we found it

  • You're at the nail salon and it's a nice little house in the corner and I'm getting ready to get my nails done

  • It's a quiet. There's lots of foreigners here. I'm actually pretty surprised and it's a lot more homey than I thought it would be so

  • I

  • Kind of like this it's like a new like a neutral nail. It's not but the pink ones makes up to it

  • I like the pink. This one's more white. Yeah the pink. Oh, so there's like these two right here, right?

  • I like this one

  • I

  • Women who did my nails was so lovely. I will link this salon down below if you're interested in trying it out

  • There's even a dog named Pucci who will greet you while you do your nails

  • She met on Instagram

  • You're so cute

  • I'm getting Sakura nails because it's Sakura season

  • Oh

  • My hands are so small

  • Yes, no problem

  • So we just finished I just finished my nails I got Sakura nails

  • If you can see them, they look like this. They're so pretty

  • We just finished at the nail salon and they were so nice everybody was speaking English it was weird to me

  • We were like in an American home

  • But yeah, I got my nails done and it looked really nice and I can't wait to go to LA with them now

  • We're going to dinner with Cal and I think he's waiting for us. So we're in a rush. So thank you

  • Thank you for coming with me and keeping me company

  • So you guys should totally come to Jolie nails I think a Jolie salon Jolie beauty Jolie beauty

  • How do you decide where to live in Japan most programs you sign up for a place you randomly where you have no choice

  • But if you decide after that to move elsewhere think about trying something out of your comfort zone first

  • See if you like it, and if not pick somewhere that suits your personality best

  • We're waiting for a table

  • We're very hungry

  • I

  • Honestly, I don't know if it'll be worth the price but they're cute my nails aren't really that long in my hands are so small

  • Hi guys, so

  • Like Bailey's

  • Honestly, I'm lucky to have lived in four different places in Japan already

  • Moving around gives you a feel of where you would like to settle down in the future

  • So don't knock it if you don't try a variety of places give each location a chance before deciding where to live

  • I love this place. It's kind of like Cal knows everybody

  • Look at the moodiness, like they put the candles on the table

  • Yeah, we need to do it's gonna make you poop 20,000 milligrams of vitamin C and it's gonna get that out of you. I feel like it's allergies though. I know what do you guys think?

  • Comment down below

  • I'm going to the drugstore so I can get some vitamin C into my body 12,000 grams. Oh wait 20. Let's see. There's super fish oil, zinc, calcium, iron, sea, oh a thousand milligrams

  • It's the same in Japanese. Oh a thousand so I can just take two. No, wait 20,000. You're gonna take

  • You can do 15,000

  • Oh

  • Hey guys, it is

  • Close to the time that I'm gonna be leaving for LA

  • I didn't film an ending for the video

  • Because I was exhausted at the end of the day and had to work the next morning. So my voice is gone

  • I this is like me filming the day that I'm leaving. So

  • Yeah, I apologize for that but I got my nails done so they're really cute they're still on

  • It's been a week now and I still have them on so they worked out pretty well

  • I recommend the place the place was really weird though. Like there was this guy that was there

  • He looked like he was like part Japanese part something else or maybe he was full Japanese

  • I don't know but like he started asking me about my nails and he's like, oh they look so nice

  • And then he said he runs a jewelry company

  • He was showing us all his Sakura jewelry and it was actually really strange like do they all live in the same house?

  • There were like three kids there. I guess since the owner is American. She lives with her

  • Husband, he's not Japanese and they have three kids. I guess there was some lady

  • I guess she said she was from India and she had two kids that were there and like I was so confused and this random

  • Japanese guy is talking about jewelry and like

  • It was really interesting and then there were like there was like an intern and this young girl and like there's one big happy family

  • I don't know. It was like the Brady Bunch in Japan

  • Like I said, I was talking about Tokyo and like how it's really hard to live here for me

  • I think anybody that has anxiety it's hard to live in a big city like this. I think anywhere in the world

  • I don't know

  • I think in a couple years that's gonna be in the cards is moving back to Nagoya or I'm moving to a completely new place because I feel like

  • I've seen it all in Tokyo and I just kind of want to explore more. Anyway, I'm gonna end this pretty short

  • What do you guys think about living in big cities? Do you have anxiety?

  • Where would you like to see me move? I don't know

  • I feel like there's so many vloggers here in Tokyo and it's just not really for me

  • Let me know in the comments below and I'll see you guys next time
