Hey guys, so I think this is the perfect time of year to kind of spruce up the playroom and make room for things that are new.
Here are seven easy ideas.
1.
STUFFIE.
STORAGE.
One stuffy storage, a basket is cute until it is majorly overflowing.
Which ones can we get rid of?
None.
One strategy, a few months ago, I snuck a bunch of the uglier ones into the pink pillow behind me.
No.
One has noticed.
I'm not a big fan of bean bags, but this one is really cute.
She's like eating the other ones.
Or I love this hack, a shadow box frame, you could stuff so many in, and I think it's really clever decor.
In just a slightly claustrophobic way.
2.
OVER.
THE.
TOP.
ORGANIZING.
A great example is all the play food, it used to be really junky.
I didn't want to spend a lot of money, but HomeGoods has so many organizing options.
And so I labeled food, which may seem a little nuts.
But when customers visit, it is so much more fun to fill orders.
Here you go.
Thank you.
I also did this with the doll stuff and the crafts, you know, those inexpensive shoe boxes are my favorite.
3.
FUNCTIONAL.
FURNITURE.
Number three, functional furniture, everything should have storage.
I love this table that lifts up, the container store has these awesome benches.
And if you go to HomeGoods, I'm 95% sure you will find something cute like this pink seat.
4.
PLEASING.
PEGBOARDS.
Number four, pleasing pegboards.
So you might remember the $15 one, we spray painted and turned into the DIY Nerf gun wall.
And a little update, this has been a huge hit, play dates, random family weekends.
One of you suggested to print out the picture for easier cleanup.
And this has worked great.
Sadly, for me, but.
I also have pegboards from the container store behind me, which are awesome for craft stuff.
They're a bit pricier but magnetic, we love them.
5.
(RE)DECORATE.
THE.
DUDS.
Number five, redecorate the duds, I think that counts.
Um, so Tess and I love playing dolls.
Our favorite set is this classroom.
But.
I just.
Hated.
The.
Floor.
So I had some leftover sticky wallpaper from doing Presley's locker.
And so we refinished it.
I think it makes a difference.
And you can do this with anything because, you know, you got to enjoy the little things.
5.
SEPARATE.
WITH.
SIGNS.
Speaking of signs, I think it looks really nice to separate areas and label them.
So I got this custom wood sign on Amazon for $40, we spray painted it, and it just finishes the arts and crafts section.
We also spray painted the play letters, except Nerf gun them, which is perfect for that section.
And that sign is from TJ Maxx, almost went with the cat one, but I think this is right for the doll area.
7.
ROLL.
W/.
THE.
REALISM.
And finally, roll with the realism.
Uh, so a few months ago, Ford decided that we needed an indoor mini hoop basketball court.
Which he thoroughly enjoys, but it requires clearing everything.
So the number one thing to do in the playroom is to get some good sliders and attach them to everything.
Gotta put them on there too.
This way you can move things back so much easier.
You know, when company comes over, it looks okay.
Um, but really, if a playroom is too perfect, I think that's a sign it's not played in enough.
So.
Check.
All right, thanks for watching.
Bye guys.
