• on the way: During the journey to a particular place.
• at least: As a minimum
• ring out: To sound loudly and clearly.
• search for: To try to find someone or something.
• as well as: Also; in addition to
• in the past: During a former period of time; previously.
• public enemy number one: The person considered most dangerous or undesirable by society.
• entire: Complete or full; with no part left out; whole
• unprecedented: Not having happened before, or to such a degree

• footage: A certain amount of film or video of something
• fatal: Causing death; having very bad consequences
• initiate: To cause something to begin
• throw: To use your arm to make something fly in the air
• assault: To attack someone physically or emotionally
• ground: To break (coffee, etc.) into tiny bits with machine
• silence: State of being quiet and not talking for a time
• vehicle: Machine (such as a car) used to carry things
• correspondent: Journalist, as one reporting from other countries
• trend: Current style or fashion
• violent: Done with force; likely to produce physical damage
• aftermath: The bad result/situation after an event
• violence: Strong physical force of nature
• gang: Group that you disapprove of, e.g. criminals
• brutality: Extremely mean or violent act or treatment
• staff: Employees of a company
• public: Owned by the government
• drive: A person's ambition and motivation to do something
• forensic: Establishing facts or evidence in investigations
• wear: To have clothes, glasses, shoes etc. on your body
• prepare: To make something ready for use
• booth: Small area where someone does something privately
• ambush: Act of lying in wait to attack by surprise
• convict: Person in prison
• burn: To destroy with fire
• onslaught: Violent attack; a sudden rush of something
• underway: Happening now
• specialist: Person who works in one specific area or field
• country: An area of land that is controlled by a government
• burglar: Thief who enters a building with intent to steal
• veer: To change direction
• arm: To activate a weapon or bomb for use
• dark: Of a color that is not light
• bloody: Covered or spotted with blood on the surface

• plan: Drawing of how something should be done or made
• carnage: Destruction and devastation involving human deaths
• terrify: To scare or greatly frighten
• man: Humans in general, including male and female
• beak: Hard pointed parts of a bird's mouth; bill
• nick: Person's name
• gravely: In a serious and solemn manner
• manhunt: Organized search (by police) for a criminal
• motorway: Broad highway designed for high-speed traffic
