  • Commercially, candies are freeze-dried usingspecialized machine that first flash-freezes the

  • technique results in candies that have a longer  shelf life (up to 25 years) and do not require  

  • refrigeration, making them a convenient option  for certain applications, like travel snacks.

  • Some of the best candies to freeze-dry  include Skittles, Saltwater Taffy,  

  • and marshmallows. These candies, after being  freeze-dried, deliver a unique taste experience,  

  • making them even more flavorful. However, not  all candies are suitable for freeze-drying.  

  • For example, chocolate covered nuts are  generally best enjoyed without freeze-drying,  

  • as their fillings may not respond  well to the freezing process.
