  • Are you ready to light up your English?

  • I hope you are because I'm back with another speak English with me video.

  • Let's go over how it works real quick for the new people here.

  • So you will basically speak English with me.

  • We will have a dialogue where one line will be mine and the next one will be yours.

  • I'm going to say my line and then you will read your line from the screen, out loud, as if you are answering me and then we switch.

  • In today's video, we're diving into a spectacular conversation on the phone between a home owner and an electrician.

  • So find a comfortable and quiet place and get ready to switch on your speaking skills by repeating after me, responding to questions and even pausing the video to practice your lines and let's get started.

  • So first, we will listen to the full dialogue and then proceed to the practicing part.

  • Hi there.

  • I'm having some issues with the electricity in my house and I think I need an electrician to take a look at it.

  • Of course, I'd be happy to help.

  • Can you describe the problem you're experiencing?

  • Well, some of the outlets in the living room don't seem to be working.

  • And yesterday, the lights in the kitchen flickered for a moment.

  • I see.

  • It sounds like there might be an issue with the wiring or the connections.

  • When did this start happening?

  • The outlets stopped working about a week ago and the lights flickered for the first time yesterday evening.

  • Thanks for letting me know.

  • It's good that you're addressing it promptly.

  • Have you noticed any other unusual things like sparks or burning smells?

  • No, nothing like that. Luckily.

  • All right, I'll come over to take a look.

  • How about tomorrow morning around 10 a.m.?

  • That works for me.

  • I'll be home.

  • Do I need to do anything to prepare for your visit?

  • Just make sure that the area around the outlets and electrical panel is clear.

  • And if you can, turn off the power to the affected outlets. I'll bring my tools and equipment to diagnose and fix the issue.

  • Got it. I'll do that. Thank you for your help.

  • You're welcome.

  • We'll get it sorted out and if you have any questions in the meantime, don't hesitate to call.

  • I appreciate that. See you tomorrow at 10 a.m. then.

  • See you then. Have a good day.

  • You too.

  • And thanks again.

  • All right, let's practice.

  • I'll go first.
