  • Hey guys, I am back with another speak English with me video.

  • So let's jump right into practicing our speaking skills together.

  • But before we do that, let me tell you how this will work real quick.

  • So you will basically speak English with me.

  • We will have a dialogue where one line will be mine and the next one will be yours.

  • I'm gonna say my line and then you will read your line from the screen, out loud as if you are answering me and then vice versa.

  • This will be small talk between two neighbors and trust me,

  • you do want to practice making small talk with people because for Americans making small talk is like taking a breath of air.

  • It is that natural and effortless and they make them all the time with everyone, even strangers.

  • So first, we will listen to the full dialogue and then proceed to the practicing part.

  • Hi there. How's your day going?

  • Oh, hello! It's been pretty good, thank you. How about yours?

  • Not bad at all. I just finished some yard work and it feels nice to be outside on such a lovely day.

  • I agree. The weather couldn't be better.

  • Your garden looks fantastic, by the way. I love the colorful flowers.

  • Thank you. I've been trying to add some variety this year.

  • Your new paint job looks great too. The house looks fresh and inviting.

  • Thanks a lot. It was about time for a change.

  • It's amazing how a fresh coat of paint can make such a difference.

  • Definitely.

  • Oh, by the way, have you tried the new cafe that opened downtown?

  • Not yet, but I've heard good things about it. Is it worth a visit?

  • I think so.

  • I went there last week and had a delicious cappuccino. The ambience is cozy too.

  • I'll have to check it out then. Thanks for the recommendation.

  • So, do you have any plans for this weekend?

  • Not really, just taking it easy and maybe doing some grocery shopping. How about you?

  • I'm thinking of going for a hike if the weather holds up.

  • There's a beautiful trail nearby that I've been wanting to explore.

  • That sounds like a perfect weekend plan.

  • I hope the weather operate so you can enjoy it fully.

  • Thanks, fingers crossed.

  • Well, I should get going now, but it was nice catching up with you.

  • Absolutely. We should do this more often.

  • Well, have a wonderful day and enjoy your hike if you go.

  • You too. Take care and see you around. Bye.
