  • I did this at Ralph Steadman’s in his studio in around 2021.

  • This self portrait. It was created at the time that was, let's say a bit dark, bit confusing.

  • I looked at it and I don't know why I thought it needed something else... it needed further...

  • ...information.

  • When I felt the need to write the basically the counting down of the years.

  • Essentially, I just wroteFiveon there because I was just about to enter into the fifth year of...

  • ...the madness.

  • The reference art is, that’s from a photoshoot for Dior with Jean-Baptiste Mondino.

  • He’s got a great eye, and the great thing shooting with Jean-Baptiste Mondino is youll never look at anything,

  • any of his photographs, any of his work where the subject’s eyes aren’t somewhere else or you see something behind the eyes and Mondino is...

  • he’s kind of a master of that kind of thing.

  • That whole time as much as it was painful, Dior stuck to their guns and that was incredible.

  • If you can read in the eyes something that can affect you, if that can have some effect, and they see some sort of truth or whatever in there, then,

  • because you know, it's not the most comfortable thing, doing like a self-portrait.

  • Although in a weird way, like I said, almost everything you do is a self-portrait in one way or another.

  • I would sit with a mirror and just sketch myself and I would do that for a while, you know, different days, different light, different angles.

  • I mean, I appreciate portraits of people that really are just as life like as a photograph.

  • But, unfortunately we have been living in the times where you may as will just take a photograph if that’s what youre looking for.

  • So to be able to kind of drag out whatever the figure that represents to you that it shouldn't look, I don't know real in a way it should be...

  • It should just be some expression.

  • Spit it out as it gets spit out.

  • Here’s the information: Meant to be released the 20th of July for a limited time.

  • How limited?

  • I don’t know.

  • And for every print, $200 will go directly to Mental Health America,

  • which is a wonderful facility and it's an extremely deserving cause they do a lot of great work there so yeah,

  • 200 bucks from every print will go to them.
