Once upon a time there was a large castle that   stood in the middle of a village.

It had belonged to a giant, but the   villagers believed it was now abandoned.

After chasing the children away, the giant attached barbed   wire to the walls of his castle.

The giant did not see that it was really   his heart that was cold and frozen.

Time went by, and the village had seen  three springs come and go.

Lovely flowers in pink, purple, and red  had blossomed in the mountains,

Why won’t spring come to my garden?  Oh…it is so dreary here…

For three years the giant had been alone  in his cold, dark castle,

with nothing but witheres trees and silence  to keep him company.

For the first time, he began to feel lonely.

What!? What am I saying? Could I really.......

Overjoyed, the giant rushed out into the garden.

Spring has come! Spring has come at last! It’s spring!!

Slowly, the giant turned towards the crying child.

Seeing its distress, he suddenly felt the urge to help.

He realized that perhaps by helping someone,  he   could take away some of his loneliness.

Ohhh…I really want to climb this tree…but I can’t reach…

As the giant lifted the child into the tree,   birds and butterflies fluttered into the garden.

The giant suddenly realized  why spring had come to his garden.

The children had brought it back  with their joy and their laughter,

The giant blushed at the children’s laughter.

Just then, he knew that that sound was  the   most beautiful thing in his garden,
