  • These are new and hidden gem food spots at Tsukiji market.

  • Okay, so we are starting super early in the morning with this one.

  • I'm super excited because I'm back here at Tsukiji market, a lot of people are coming back to Japan.

  • The gates are open and people have been asking me where are some new spots where I can go.

  • So in this video I'm taking you to the market and showing you some hidden food spots and some new spots that have come along the way quickly before we start.

  • If you guys have any questions about Japan or your Japan travelers and check out my discord community.

  • Alright, let's get our food on.

  • Just a minute walk from the station.

  • The ski job or outer market has maintained the title of Tokyo's kitchen for 85 years and I'm finally back.

  • I already shared my favorite spots a few years ago and many of those go to hitters are still at it today.

  • So definitely check out that video in those spots.

  • But with more than 400 shops a day, I thought it was about time to add some new shops to my list.

  • No one.

  • So this one behind me has been around since 1967 and they have some of the freshest, let me show you from salmon roe to cod roe.

  • You can roll roll yourself down to this fresh stream as they've got it all.

  • This is a specialty fish egg shop serving their delights with pasta and spaghetti and of course I'm ordering on E.

  • G.

  • You can find the pre made ones at the front, but my hidden gem local tip is that you can ask them to make it fresh.

  • We're all familiar with cold Convenio nigari, which is also good, but that could never be a warm, freshly hand wrapped on a giddy made right in front of you.

  • So this one right here, the salmon, you can see all of these hearty chunks, nori, seaweed on the outside.

  • Let's just take our first bite that salmon is perfectly salted.

  • It's so fresh and moist.

  • Look at these chunks of salmon, Look how big that is.

  • And just that warm rice wrapped in this seaweed and the naughty, it is perfect on top of that.

  • If you want to be a little bit venturing, you can also get the salmon roe eggs here.

  • Goodbye.

  • This ricotta just pops, there's so much flavor that comes out.

  • These things are a little like fresh morsels of umami.

  • You can definitely taste the freshness here.

  • You can even tell that that has been marinated has the perfect amount of saltiness.

  • It's not too salty, it just goes so well and the rice just rounds it all out and if you're like me and you want to get just a little bit extra, you can actually ask for some of it on the side and if you want to get a little bit crazy, you can actually take some of the salmon roe and then you can throw it into salmon even more flavorful.

  • Get two types of action.

  • Look at that.

  • So this is amazing.

  • Just look around, there's all these people right now, everyone's lined up.

  • Everyone is just full happiness because it's finally opened just a few months ago.

  • There was no one here.

  • But just look, this is what it's all about.

  • Number two peppers cafe.

  • Okay, so this next spot is a fairly new, Not a lot of people know about it because it's quite actually hard to find.

  • You can see right here, it looks like someone's house, but here's the secret.

  • Let me show you.

  • So first of all, you have to go through this alleyway right here.

  • This hidden gem food shop is a husband and wife run cafe focused on peppers as the tail goes years ago on a trip to cambodia.

  • The owner fell in love with local fresh raw peppercorns, which led him to open up this shop sometime later.

  • A content creator from Tokyo would happen upon this very shop to also fall in love with the peppers and well, you know what happens after that, Although they have a small kitchen, it's amazing how good the food is.

  • The pizza dough itself is fermented in advance and the pizza is tossed only at the time it's ordered and to see how it's cooked.

  • You'll have to visit yourself because you wouldn't believe it if I showed you here is the pizza, I got some chorizo on top and you can see all the little peppers right here.

  • Look at that.

  • Your penis.

  • Look at all the cheese is always gets a little bit messy.

  • See that right there.

  • Look at that drippy drip.

  • Probably from all the chorizo.

  • Say goodbye.

  • Um that is heaven.

  • The cheese is so melty.

  • But the thing that stands out the most is the peppers here and they are so fresh.

  • Mm These peppers definitely a kick.

  • It's almost like biting into like a fresh fruit.

  • There's like so much juice coming from the peppers and has that speakeasy fresh to it.

  • I can't have enough of the peppers.

  • What's quite interesting too is in order for them to import it here to japan.

  • They actually have to salt it a little bit.

  • So it's almost like a super ultra duper.

  • Fresh salt and pepper combined into one.

  • Also, I should mention that they have their own handcrafted cola using their very own flavorful pepper.

  • That's definitely worth a try.

  • Okay, so we have to go to the next spot, luckily the next spot is just right here, number three, the fish burger masa.

  • This shop is run solely by a former chef who has a deep love for crafting fish burgers infused with a japanese essence.

  • Oh and quick Little tip.

  • The shop opens at 11 since the owner is working as a fish monger at the market before this, right after the order.

  • He especially fries.

  • The cod.

  • The burger itself is built on a healthy base of Mayawati sprouts, yoga and shiso topped with a handmade Pomodoro sauce.

  • Then a tartar sauce uniquely made with, you know, the ginger that's on the side of sushi finally topped with a slice of red cheddar cheese.

  • Okay, so check this out.

  • I got the fish burger.

  • Holy fried fish burger.

  • That is some of the crispy fried fish I've ever had.

  • Oh, that is so good.

  • And the fish is just so fresh.

  • But I love the fact that the bread is fluffy but also has a sticky texture to it.

  • So this sauce is super interesting.

  • It has this mayonnaise tartar sauce.

  • If you look, you have the melted cheese but then you also have some egg on top.

  • This is one of the best fish sandwiches you can get here.

  • Mm Again, this is one of those newer shops here in Ski G and you can also get a drink here too.

  • Number four maruyama.

  • No written so quickly.

  • I wanted to show you this list right here.

  • It's actually a really famous noti seaweed spot, 60% of the michigan sushi restaurants in Tokyo used the note from this place.

  • Let me show you inside with over 100 and 60 years of history.

  • This shop can trace its roots back to the original Fish market.

  • Almost 3000 sushi restaurants in Tokyo purchased Nori seaweed directly from here.

  • So yeah, they've got things on.

  • So look, you can even try the naughty or two before you buy it.

  • That's good luckily you don't need to worry too much about having you choose yourself between all the different products.

  • This shop stuff are more than happy to help you find what you need, even offering samples of No TNT.

  • So one of the cool things too about this place is they have this tea where you can just get it.

  • Teabags are made for you to be able to put into your water bottle, just shake it up and drink as you go.
