  • Oh, that means really cool things you can make

  • with stuff around the house.

  • A bird feeder. (bird cheeps)

  • Yeah.

  • Boy, Elmo loves crafts,

  • and wants to find out more about them.

  • Hey, let's ask Elmo's friend Smartie.

  • Let's call her together.

  • - [Elmo And Children] Oh, Smartie!

  • (phone ringing) (Elmo laughing)

  • - Hello there.

  • - Um, Smartie, is that you?

  • - (giggles) It's me all right.

  • I'm wearing a mast that I made out of a paper plate.

  • (Elmo laughs) Oh, why that's perfect, Smartie,

  • because today Elmo wants to learn all about crafts.

  • - Well, what do we do to learn something new?

  • - [Elmo And Smartie And Children] We look it up.

  • (triumphant music)

  • - Looking up info on crafts. Here we go.

  • (upbeat music)

  • You could turn rocks from the yard into animals like owls.

  • You can make dolls out of pipe cleaners.

  • Or you can fold up paper and make things like a flower.

  • (bubbly music)

  • - Wow, (laughs) that's so cool.

  • - Wait till I show you what my older brother Flip

  • made out of popsicle sticks.

  • (airplane rustling)

  • - Wow, (laughs) an airplane.

  • - Happy crafting, Elmo.

  • See ya. (quirky upbeat music)

  • - Oh, thank you, Smartie. Bye-bye.

  • Hey, (laughs) that gives Elmo an idea.

  • (laughs) Let's play a game together.

  • Yeah, come on, come on.

  • (gentle upbeat music) (Elmo laughs)

  • (chalk scratches)

  • Oh, must try and figure out which things from the kitchen

  • we can use to make crafts.

  • Are you ready? Let's play.

  • (upbeat music) - [Child] Cardboard tubes.

  • - [Elmo] Think we can use that?

  • - [Child] Sure.

  • - [Child] Let's use that ball of string.

  • Yeah, string will be great.

  • - [Elmo] What about a kitty-cat?

  • - [Child] (laughs) No way.

  • - [Child] Use that empty plastic jar, too.

  • - [Elmo] Okay, so we have cardboard tubes, string,

  • and an empty plastic jar.

  • Let's find out what crafts we can make

  • by putting those together.

  • (horse zaps)

  • Oh, ho, ho, a horse. Giddy-up horsy.

  • (horse whinnies) Wow!

  • Right, making crafts is craftastic. (laughs)

  • And that makes Elmo wonder even more, oh,

  • what kind of crafts does Mr. Noodle like to make.

  • Oh, let's ask him.

  • Hey, Mr. Noodle.

  • (Mr. Noodle boings)

  • (Elmo laughs)

  • Hi there, Mr. Noodle.

  • Mr. Noodle, Elmo was wondering, does Mr. Noodle make crafts?

  • (quirky music) You do?

  • Oh, show us.

  • - [Children] Yeah, show us.

  • (slide whistle toots)

  • - [Child] A train. He's making a choo-choo train.

  • - [Elmo] What is Mr. Noodle going to use to make the train?

  • (quirky music) Oh.

  • Shoe boxes covered in construction paper,

  • some string, a paper towel tube, and a crayon.

  • - [Child] Well, you're going to draw the wheels first.

  • Not on us, Mr. Noodle, on the train boxes.

  • - [Elmo] Silly.

  • Oh, what's he doing.

  • Oh, Mr. Noodle is drawing the wheels on the bus. Cool.

  • Very nice. (triumphant music)

  • What's Mr. Noodle going to do next?

  • (quirky music)

  • - [Child] He's making the engine.

  • - [Child] He's going to put the boxes together with string.

  • Uh-oh, he's all tangled.

  • - [Child] Uh-oh. (Mr. Noodle thuds)

  • - [Elmo] Try again, Mr. Noodle.

  • (string whooshes)

  • (string squeaks and pops)

  • (quirky upbeat music)

  • Yay! Mr. Noodle did it.

  • - [Child] He made a train. (train whistle toots)

  • - [Elmo] Thank you for showing us

  • how to make crafts, Mr. Noodle.

  • (laughs) Learning new things makes Elmo so happy.
