  • Matt, do you have a minute?

  • You bet I do.

  • Is it work?

  • Can I help you with anything?

  • No. It's nothing serious.

  • I actually wanted to ask you if you'd be interested in some company events.

  • I'm not sure.

  • What kind of events are they?

  • Well, there are two.

  • The first is an outing to the Northern coast.

  • We'll be doing some stand-up paddleboarding, and snorkeling before having a late lunch.

  • I'm afraid I'll have to pass on that.

  • I'm a very weak swimmer, so the ocean and I don't mix well.

  • Oh, that's too bad.

  • Sorry.

  • What about the other event?

  • Right, Kendra from marketing is throwing a party next weekend.

  • I thought it'd be a good opportunity for you to meet a few more people from work.

  • Parties are definitely my cup of tea. What is it for?

  • Oh, it's not for anything particular.

  • She just loves throwing the occasional party for socializing.

  • Well, I'm keen. When is it?

  • It's next Saturday evening.

  • The party starts at 7:30 p.m. Are you free?

  • I believe so.

  • Should I bring a gift or anything?

  • What does Kendra like?

  • Oh, don't bring anything.

  • She really hates that kind of stuff.

  • Just show up and have a good time.

  • Really?

  • For sure.

  • Maybe buy her a coffee or something if you really want to thank her .

  • Good idea 好主意

  • I look forward to seeing our colleagues let their hair down.

  • You'll love it!

  • By the way, you can bring a friend if you want; the more the merrier!

  • Got it 我知道了

  • Thanks so much for the invite!
