Yeah bonjour bonjour hotel, Indigo Ok sorry and also business today we went to Versailles and wow it was so busy I mean I was expecting it to be busy but from the beginning from our train ride it was super packed.

It seemed like everybody was going to Versailles at the same time.

Our tickets was at noon and um it seems like everybody else's tickets was at noon or like 12 30.

It took about an hour to get their total.

That's including like walking going from station to station the actual ride once we got to the invalid station which is near the Eiffel Tower station at the metro when we switched to the R E R.

That's the one that goes to Versailles.

That ride was only 30 minutes so it went by pretty quick even though it was packed we did find a seat but it was hot so hot in there.

Don't make the mistake.

I did.

And sit next to a window but that was the only seat available because we were we couldn't even sit next to each other because it was pretty packed and when there are is it R E C E R R E R C.

That train actually looks different from the metro trains they're stacked so even then being stocked it was really busy.

So yeah so anyway we did make it to Versailles and they split the lines into like the hour that you're going in so we were at 12 o'clock there's another line for 12 30.

I'm not sure if there's a one o'clock line or not maybe.

So initially I wanted to start off at the Trianon estates, but when I was trying to find the exit towards the garden because I had to go through the gardens first to get to the estate area Um one of the, the staff there told us that no, once you exit the palace and you go to the gardens you can't come back into the palace.

So I was like, oh okay, so we explore the palace first or the chateau and that was really neat.

You know, we saw lots of portraits of all the people that used to live there and of course the hall of mirrors, which is beautiful and learned a little bit about, you know, king Henry the 14th mary Antoinette.

But I mean if you don't have an audio guide or if you don't use their app, you're not gonna get a lot of information because a lot of their plaques is very minimal and usually in french, there was some english on there, but the font was so small and it was like white on the back of a like a lighter background, so it's kind of hard to read and you know, there's a lot of people too.

So if you're really keen on the history and you don't know much about it, it probably was a good idea to get the audio guide, although there was a long line for it.

Yeah, but so yeah, the majority of the people I would say did have an audio guy so they can learn a little bit more, but I actually knew a lot of the history anyway since I watched um, Versailles, the show on netflix and it's actually a BBC show I think.

But then we also watched mary Antoinette and that tells a lot about the history of Versailles to a little bit.

Um, so if you watch those two things, you do get a lot of history and then I did some, every time I watch a movie or a show something I always do research afterwards.

So I learned a little bit more and it is fascinating history.

So I highly suggest doing that before you go, like just learning a little bit about it and then we exited and went into the gardens and I wanted to initially get bikes like rent bikes because it's such a huge estate, just walking from one end to the other is I think it's got to be like, you know, five miles maybe.

But anyway it's a lot to walk.

So I thought we should get bikes but to rent the bikes is like on the other side of the garden.

So that was a long walk in itself.

So we were like, yeah, I don't think we'll survive because the time we got out It was already, I think 2:00 probably or three, I forget, I think it's too, so I was like hitting close to high, High 70s, low 80s so and the sun was beaming so we knew we wouldn't last very long.

And plus we were running low on water, really needed water and we didn't have any lunch.

So we had a little snack.

That's another thing to the lines for their cafe were so long so better to bring a snack.

So yeah with those options were like I think we need to go on the golf carts and there's a line there too.

So so the golf cart rental is right outside the palace, whereas the bike rental was all the way on the other side.

So I mean of course we were like down to like pay more for the golf cart.

But the other problem was that there was such a long line.

And so I asked the lady how long she thought the line would, you know the weight would be and she guessed it right.

She said 30 minutes to an hour of course was the ladder an hour.

But if you see a pretty long line most likely you're gonna wait about an hour.

Yes because they have a limited amount of golf carts.

So basically you're waiting in line for someone to come back.

There isn't just like a line of golf carts and that's probably for the safety of the premises because if you have all these golf carts going around it's probably gonna be chaotic.

So we decided to tough it out and we waited in line waited in line for one hour.

We actually timed it and it was exactly one hour, it's €40 or €38 an hour.

And we were thinking about just doing an hour, but once you get into that cart again it's massive.

So with two stops, two little stops that we did that took two hours.

Yes.

But then there's also times where we had to stop for water, a bathroom break and a little snack.

So those all at a time and it was two hours, like that first hour went by so quick.

I couldn't believe it.

And the golf cart, you can't go as fast as you want.

I think the max speed on that was like five MPH.

It was super slow.

So even if you want to kind of rush through some parts, you can't also, the map of the premises, there's only specific places we can go and if you go past an air, you're not supposed to, the card actually automatically shuts off and it'll have like an audio saying you can't go past this.

And we got stuck one time because they went past an area where it's supposed to cause we're following another golf cart and the battery shut off and we had to push the golf cart ourselves and other people did too.

And I'm like, well this is ridiculous, like what if you were by yourself anyways, it was a fiasco but we made it out and also we almost got lost a couple of times.

Um we weren't the only ones because there were other people that were following us and like what, okay where do we go?

So that's another reason why it took some time.

You will get a map and they do explain it to you like pretty well, like what you're supposed to do.

But the premise is so hard to understand, really hard to understand once you get in there because it's like a maze in this car.

Yeah, there's very, very sorry, but I was I was you know, I was happy to see that we weren't the only ones getting lost um and weren't the only ones getting stuck and anyways, that's why it also took more than an hour, just those little mishaps um kind of like set us back but you know, oh no, like I think even if we didn't have those setbacks, we probably would have still spent more than an hour on the golf carts just because of that.

It's just, I would say if you want to leisurely enjoy this golf cart, give yourself three hours at least you are going to spend a little bit of money on these golf carts, but I think it's totally worth it because you can explore so much more.

I mean it's not just the Palace and the gardens, there's the the trianon estate.

So there's like three locate three additional locations that you can check out.

And those are beautiful too because you get to check out Marie Antoinette's little palace, which is super cute and we're Murray Antoinette fans.

We really wanted to check out.

What was it, what was it called?

Her Little, it's like the Queen's Hamlet I think is what it was called.

We didn't have time for that, we ran out of time and I want to see the grand, that's what we wanted to see.

But yeah, we just didn't have time for it was, I couldn't believe how fast the two hours went.

Yeah, so um some tips if you're going to go to the gardens and these other areas, make sure you get some sun block or something to protect your skin because I got burnt waiting in that line because there's no shade anywhere.

So and my back was all open so I really got burnt.

Um I wasn't even thinking that I needed some blocks so make sure you bring some of that, make sure you have lots of water too because yeah, I mean they sell water but at certain points so you still have to wait a bit, you'll see a lot of uh solicitors selling water before the entrance, so you can get some water there and then after, you know there's like some little cafes in the palace, but there's long lines and then when you exit the gardens, you have to go a little bit before you enter another snack area so that's why we didn't have water when we were waiting for the golf carts were like oh my God we need water.

And then once we got the golf carts we went to the little snacking area where they had water because we were thirsty so thirsty.

Uh So there's that also you tend to get hot um Maybe bring a little fan with you because that will help you cool off a little bit.

I was going to but got lazy and decided not to bring it with me but that would have been something great to have because not only was it hot outside but when you go on the trains it is so hot.

I feel like the trains were more unbearable for me just because you're like touching other people and like everyone's like sweaty and it's kind of stuffy in this train so trains have no a C.

So just keep that in mind or if they do I cannot feel it.

I don't think they do have just like it's so hot in the trains but okay so overall we had a great time at Versailles.

I am glad that I went I've always wanted to go there, it's been on our bucket list and we finally did it.

So yeah I do recommend even though it's busy.

I do recommend visiting Versailles.

It's like wonderful there.

Yeah the palace part is really busy Once you get into the garden it's massive.

It starts to spread out so then you kind of have room to breathe.

It's just hot if you go in the summer.

But yeah we were having a great time on the golf cart riding around the gardens.

I yeah I really enjoyed it and it gave us a little break on our feet because we're standing up for like hours so that was nice too.

Um So yeah so that was our day today.
