  • - Love, love, love.

  • ♪ (French accordion music) ♪

  • - (FBE) So, we're gonna be trying French pastries today.

  • - French pastries. I remember trying

  • this French pasty on the Christmas episode

  • and it was my favorite. It was the log one.

  • - I like no pastries personally. Just not my jam.

  • - I hope I'm gonna try a chocolate filled croissant.

  • - The macarons or something. I'm not too big of a fan of those.

  • - I am really excited.

  • - (FBE) So, the food we are presenting you with today

  • was made from a local authentic French patisserie

  • in Los Angeles. - Oh my God, there's so many

  • different restaurants in Los Angeles.

  • It's gonna be interesting. Bonjour.

  • - (FBE) Here's your first French pasty.

  • - Oh, I think I've had one of these before.

  • - It's a madeleine!

  • - These are the best. My mom packs these

  • in my lunch.

  • - I love it. Plain, but good.

  • - It tastes like a coffee cake.

  • - I admit that I do like these.

  • - It's actually pretty good. It's been a long time

  • since I had one.

  • - (FBE) So, this is a madeleine.

  • It is like a spongecake and it's baked in a shell shape.

  • - It's delicious. Me and my mom,

  • we love them. Every time we buy a box,

  • I have to say, "No mom, don't eat the whole box."

  • - (FBE) So, here is your next. - It's a macaroon.

  • - I feel like there's chocolate on the inside.

  • Nope, definitely sticky like caramel.

  • - Oh, is it the salt caramel one? I know my macaroons.

  • - I forgot these are so soft.

  • - Tastes kinda cocoa-ish, but it was actually pretty good.

  • - I really like these. It has a little bit of cream in it.

  • - Tastes like a peanut butter cup, but more bready.

  • - It's soft and still a little bit of a crunchy outer shell

  • and then it's just soft, ooey gooey-ness in the middle.

  • So good.

  • - (FBE) This is a macaron. Some McDonald's in France

  • even sell them. - McDonald's?

  • Why don't they do that here?

  • - What? McDonald's, one day will you

  • please sell macarons? These are delicious.

  • - (FBE) Here's your next treat. - Isn't it one of those lava cakes?

  • - It has the outside of a donut and the bottom of a cake.

  • - What's on the inside? Oh, that doesn't look too bad.

  • Doesn't really taste like anything too much.

  • - It's really chocolatey. Like a caramel brownie,

  • if that makes sense.

  • - Uh, uh. I don't like the outside.

  • It's bitter, kind of, but kind of sweet.

  • - I don't like the texture. I don't like the structure.

  • - The outside has one different flavor and then

  • the inside had a totally different flavor.

  • - (FBE) Originally a specialty of the Bordeaux region of France,

  • canale have a custard center and a caramelized crust.

  • - It tastes very good. I like it.

  • - (FBE) Here's your next. - Is this supposed to be a churro?

  • - This kinda looks like a donut.

  • - Kinda looks like a giant peanut or a hot dog.

  • A French hot dog.

  • - Is there cream filling inside of this?

  • Oh my gosh. Like Nutella on the inside.

  • - First of all, it's chocolate and pudding inside

  • and chocolate frosting. Love, love, love.

  • - I didn't expect that. It's just a normal donut,

  • but then when you bite into it, it's chocolate inside.

  • - It's like a world of chocolate fudge just melting in your mouth.

  • - (FBE) So, this is called an eclair.

  • - (whispering) Oh my God, this is so spongy and soft.
