  • Good morning everybody.

  • Welcome to Tokyo Creative play.

  • I'm your host Emma.

  • And today it's just me and I'm at japanese language school.

  • I haven't been to school in a very long time.

  • I went to Japanese language school like four or five years ago.

  • So it's been a long time.

  • I have not been studying and now I'm gonna be taking a placement test to see what level I am and also attending a class for the day.

  • So I'm nervous to be honest.

  • It's been a long time and I don't know what level I am.

  • I don't know how to write kanji and I took a practice test on the way here and it didn't go very well.

  • So uh but I'm excited to learn.

  • I'm excited to see how I am, see what my level is and also just kind of get more comfortable with being in a learning environment again.

  • Shall we take the test?

  • Oh so Nice.

  • And in five they, yeah, I started Ducat ship Coco got your, okay.

  • I've just come into my own classroom to myself and I'm going to take the placement test.

  • Here we go.

  • Okay.

  • So I've been given the test, it's gonna be multiple choice in these two different sections.

  • Yeah, I'm just gonna begin.

  • I've got 20 minutes.

  • So here we go.

  • Okay, okay, it's quite simple but I really suck at particles.

  • So I'm like uh and I'm very like I second guess myself a lot but it's going okay so far, I don't feel too out of my depth.

  • So it's okay particle is like, I think it's Joshy in in japanese.

  • Um So it's like signifying what a subject is doing or like yeah all that kind of stuff really struggle with it.

  • Oh no.

  • And this one In this in 20 minutes.

  • What?

  • How much time do I have left?

  • Are you serious?

  • It's not what?

  • No.

  • Oh shoot.

  • Oh there's no way.

  • Yeah.

  • What are you up to?

  • Okay.

  • This is going well.

  • Oh this is bad.

  • Oh God wait.

  • Oh that's that's an example.

  • Okay.

  • Wait 36.

  • How long do I have total?

  • So that's four for 36.

  • There are so many more on this one.

  • There's literally no way I stayed with one minute left.

  • That's not that's gonna should I just guess I mean there's literally no way I couldn't finish it.

  • I just put random ones for the last I think seven questions.

  • But I got too much stuff.

  • Ye what's it?

  • All the cyber box.

  • Yeah.

  • I can't see what it's one countdown.

  • Digital.

  • Hi.

  • Okay.

  • Okay.

  • They've taken the test and they're gonna market now.

  • I think I did pretty well.

  • But there was like seven questions at the end that I couldn't finish it.

  • I did not.

  • There was so little time but I did my best and I'm pretty happy with it.

  • So while I wait I'm going to eat a little snack.

  • Mm Hi.

  • None of this.

  • Hey.

  • Hi.

  • Okay.

  • Hi.

  • High.

  • Hi youtube.

  • Hi.

  • Hi.

  • Mhm.

  • And mhm mm I'm in trouble.

  • I think if I had a bit of time to get used to the flow of how the class works and get used to it.

  • I think I could and if I had a bit more time to like study a little bit more but coming in fresh I'm like this is rough But this is yeah studying for the N2 level test.

  • So yeah but it actually gives me a bit of hope because I'm understanding more than I thought I would but I'm also very overwhelmed.

  • Yeah I'm not doing great but it's interesting.

  • Okay I need to write down what I don't understand.

  • Hi mm Yeah I've forgotten so much suggesting I need to study again.

  • Somebody must, I got like a meat skewer from the it's so good.

  • I get this like every time when it's lunch what did you get?

  • What the heck yours isn't more boogie than what is this?

  • I got a poke ball, getting to go up in the, it was like so proud of mine.

  • That was good.

  • Yeah yeah it's a good refresher on a lot of stuff but then they were like okay so just write down all the words that you want to talk about and I literally I can't write kanji, I've forgotten every single can't do.

  • Sometimes I'm like I have no clue what's going on because it's such like random they've they've all been there like studying for a while so they all have the same kind of knowledge built up to this point me my studying is like all over the place.

  • Okay so we finished all of the reading part of it and now we're doing the conversation part of it.

  • Which is so good because when I went to school we didn't have a conversation part.

  • We just had to practice in our own time.

  • So this is really good.

  • Yeah I didn't eat a spot.

  • Uh Hi stop.

  • No not american.

  • Hi.

  • Okay.

  • Hi what's your name?

  • My name is Jason Jason.

  • I'm from the United States.

  • How long have you been in Japan now?

  • We got here last august about nine months.

  • Yeah.

  • Have you been studying at school the whole time?

  • No we just started this past april pretty rigorous.

  • I'm trying to pass that J.

  • L.

  • P.

  • T.

  • So I'm studying wow were you studying back in the States as well a little bit in university?

  • I studied and then here on my own like buying books classes a lot better.

  • Yeah I think so.

  • I really struggle studying by myself.

  • So classmates is definitely better than just doing it on your own.

  • And what do you want to do after you get into if you get I worked in education as a teacher back in the United States.

  • So I think about doing the same thing here but I think just having that jail.

  • Petey opened up a lot of doors.

  • So I'm open to anything.

  • Yeah and how's Japan?

  • Oh man.

  • It's great.

  • I love the public transportation coming from L.

  • A.

  • You know, we drove everywhere.

  • So not having to sit in traffic is nice.

  • The people here are really nice.

  • Um you know the food, you know, people think japanese food is expensive but it's very affordable.

  • Especially lunchtime.

  • I think it's really competitive and you can get a bowl of ramen for us, dollars six or $7 U.

  • S.

  • It's one point ramen.

  • Exactly.

  • Exactly.

  • So we like it here.

  • Yeah, definitely awesome.

  • Well good luck with the good luck with that.

  • Okay, I just finished my day at school and I'm going to say goodbye to a key by a key.

  • How was your day at school?

  • I feel that, oh my God, good luck goodbye to a little, a little goodbye here.

  • But yeah, I just finished my day at school.

  • My brain is so full.

  • I forgot what it's like just every single day having to go in and learn so much.

  • I just, I can't even imagine like doing this over and over again.

  • So it was a great day.

  • I learned a lot and it's kind of inspired me to get my study back on and I think probably I could really study hard and go for end to, I think I could do it if I just put my mind to it and dedicate the time but let us know in the comments down below if you guys have been to japanese school before or if you study on your own.

  • I'm so amazed at the guy that we met today who studied all on his own for two years and got to almost end to level.

  • Like that's crazy.

  • So let us know in the comments down below.

  • But yeah, I'm gonna go and take a nap because my brain is so full.

  • So thank you so much for watching and we'll see you guys in the next video.

  • Bye.

  • I noticed that you're sitting in the back of the class.

  • Did you always do that?

  • Like during school?

  • No, I like to be like kind of, I'm always towards the front.

  • Yeah, I literally can't concentrate.

  • Even if there's like one person in front of me, If I'm, even if I'm close to it, I still don't do as well.

  • I happen to be like at the very front.

  • I got it all right.

  • Ooh.

  • Mhm.

  • So exciting.

Good morning everybody.
