  • - Hi!

  • - Welcome to Sesame Street!

  • - Chris is reading us our new favorite book.

  • - That's right!

  • It's called "The Adventures of the Happy Little Train."

  • - It's the best book ever!

  • - You mean the worst book ever!

  • All that happy choo choo chooing!

  • Bleh!

  • I'm just glad it's over.

  • - Oscar doesn't like the train book?

  • - I thought everybody liked trains.

  • - Yeah, my mommy says trains

  • are an excellent form of transportation.

  • - And they take you to lots of new places!

  • - Oh yeah?

  • Well, why don't you hop on one and go far away!

  • - Elmo would love to have his own train to drive.

  • Maybe not a real train,

  • but Elmo could pretend he had a train!

  • Chugga chugga, chugga chugga choo choo!

  • It's Elmo's own happy little train!

  • - Elmo made a train out of a cardboard box!

  • - Hey, nice wheels, buddy.

  • Hey Elmo!

  • You are the engineer.

  • That means you are the driver.

  • - Engineer Elmo!

  • Chugga chugga, chugga chugga woo woo!

  • - Not so fast, furry face.

  • That's just the engine.

  • A real train has cars too.

  • - Oh, Oscar's right.

  • Oh yeah.

  • The happy little train has one, two cars.

  • - Oh.

  • - Oh no!

  • Elmo's train doesn't have any car.

  • - Then I guess it's not a train, the end.

  • - Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

  • - Yes.

  • With a little imagination.

  • - [Both] And.

  • - Two cardboard boxes, you have,

  • - Two cars for your train!

  • (all laugh)

  • - Thanks Zoe and Rosita!

  • - That's what friends are for!

  • - Check it out, Oscar!

  • Now the train has an engine, and one, two cars!

  • - Oh.

  • Goody goody.

  • - I will play the train conductor

  • and my job is to make sure the passengers

  • are safe on board the train.

  • - That's right.

  • The train conductor also collects tickets

  • from in the passengers.

  • - Oh, oh, oh, oh!

  • - I'll play the passenger.

  • Here's my ticket, conductor Rosita.

  • - Thank you very much, passenger, Zoe.

  • - Thank you!

  • - Well, now that you guys have planned how to play,

  • let's roll!

  • - Come on everybody, let's sing the happy little train song!

  • - Chugga chugga, chugga chugga choo choo!

  • - I just gotta stop this happy train business.

  • I got it!

  • I don't wanna ruin this fun I know we're all having here,

  • but a train can't just go anywhere like that!

  • - No?

  • - No, no.

  • It has to follow train tracks.

  • - There's no train tracks on Sesame street.

  • - Unless, we make train tracks.

  • - What?

  • - With the little imagination and oh!

  • A big piece of chalk.

  • (train whistle blares)

  • (playful music)

  • - Okay. There you are.

  • I drew pretend train tracks for you.

  • (all but Oscar laugh)

  • - Now the happy little train can follow the train tracks!

  • - Yeah.

  • Just like a real train!

  • - Thank you so much, Chris.

  • - Oh, you're so welcome.

  • Hey, listen, I have to get back to work,

  • but you all have fun, okay?
