  • Brother Li,

  • I can see your glowing expression and radiant grin,

  • it looks like you have some good news.

  • I've happily received the Lord's return,

  • and now I am dining at the wedding banquet of the Lamb.

  • - Of course I'm happy! - Yes!

  • That's worth celebrating.

  • - Thanks be to the Lord. - Yes.

  • But I have to tell you about the process of receiving the Lord.

  • It was like pushing a wheelbarrow up the stairs.

  • What do you mean?

  • It was bumpy at every step!

  • It seems like there were quite a few obstacles.

  • The point is, there's no way to guard against them.

  • There are some people who specifically say evil things and fallacies

  • to make right and wrong confusing

  • and prevent people from investigating the true way in myriad ways.

  • - Who could put up with that? - Wait, who does that?

  • Deceiving people?

  • They're evil!

  • Yes.

  • These people are hidden within the church,

  • and if you don't pay attention,

  • you will be deceived,

  • and that will ruin your chance to be lifted up and enter the kingdom of heaven.

  • Yes.

  • Then tell us everything

  • Yes.

  • so we can all develop some discernment.

  • That day,

  • Brother Yang in our church told me,

  • "The Lord Jesus has returned.

  • He is Almighty God,

  • and He has come to express the truth and do the work of judgment beginning with God's house."

  • That really is fantastic news!

  • Absolutely!

  • When I heard that news, I can't tell you how happy I felt

  • Happy!

  • and excited.

  • Excited!

  • Words can't express the emotions I felt at that moment

  • But don't just think about being happy,

  • we have to listen for the Lord's voice and receive the Lord!

  • That's right.

  • And several of us were investigating Almighty God's work of the last days

  • when our church's Pastor Wei rushed back from out of town.

  • Here he comes.

  • It looks like you're all having a meeting!

  • Pastor Wei.

  • Yes?

  • We're all reading Almighty God's words.

  • Would you like to read with us?

  • Brothers and sisters,

  • I understand how much you all yearn for the Lord's return,

  • but you can't listen to sermons from Eastern Lightning!

  • No, no.

  • - No, Pastor Wei. - Yes?

  • Almighty God actually is the returned Lord Jesus.

  • Almighty God expresses the truth,

  • and opens us to all truths regarding the inside story of the Bible,

  • the mystery of incarnation,

  • how God judges and purifies people, and

  • And how God determines each kind of people's destination and ending.

  • Yes.

  • He also points out the path for people to gain salvation, enter the kingdom of heaven.

  • Yes!

  • How could that be possible?

  • The Bible contains the entirety of God's salvation,

  • and God couldn't possibly work or speak outside the Bible.

  • You see that?

  • I've been investigating the Bible my whole life,

  • and I am certain

  • that all of God's words and work are recorded in the Bible.

  • Anything that goes outside the Bible is heresy.

  • No, look, that's not

  • So, yes,

  • no matter what, you must not investigate Eastern Lightning!

  • If there's any sermon you'd like to hear

  • I …

  • I can preach it!

  • It looks like Pastor Wei is specifically trying to prevent believers

  • from investigating the true way.

  • Absolutely!

  • Fortunately, I've read Almighty God's words

  • and understood some of the inside story of the Bible,

  • so I wasn't fooled.

  • Right.

  • Then you'd better have a talk with your pastor

  • and tell him not to deceive his brothers and sisters.

  • I did that.

  • Pastor Wei grunted and moaned, but he ignored me.

  • What did you say?

  • Pastor Wei, you say,

  • "All of God's words and work are in the Bible,

  • and anything outside the Bible is heresy,"

  • but I'm afraid I don't agree with that.

  • Right.

  • Do you have a biblical basis for that claim?

  • Did the Lord Jesus ever say those words?

  • Did the Holy Spirit ever say such things?

  • That's the right question.

  • You say, "All of God's words and work are in the Bible,"

  • but the apostle John said,

  • That's right.

  • How do you explain that verse?

  • Yes.

  • There's a conflict here.

  • You say, "Anything outside the Bible is heresy,"

  • but when the Lord Jesus did the work of redemption,

  • didn't that go outside the Old Testament?

  • Right.

  • So, given what you say,

  • doesn't that also deny and condemn the Lord Jesus' words and work?

  • You

  • It's worse than that.

  • His words even condemn the Lord's appearance and work in the last days!

  • What did the Lord Jesus prophesy?

  • What did He say?

  • Revelation also prophesies,

  • Yes.

  • When the Lord comes, He will open the scroll and break the seven seals.

  • Yes.

  • This refers to the returned Lord's utterances and words in the last days.

  • That's right.

  • That's what I said.

  • - You told him all that? - Yes.

  • - Look at how impatient I get. - Yes.

  • Keep going, keep going.

  • Fine.

  • Pastor Wei,

  • would the words the Lord expresses in the last days be recorded ahead of time in the Bible?

  • Certainly not!

  • At each stage of God's work,

  • God begins a new age and expresses new words.

  • Yes.

  • How could those be recorded in the Bible beforehand?

  • Right.

  • Which one of them came first,

  • the Bible or God's work?

  • Did the Bible produce God's work, or did God's work produce the Bible?

  • Of course God's work came first!

  • The Bible

  • is only a record of God's work in the Age of Law and the Age of Grace.

  • Right.

  • Bluntly speaking

  • Yes?

  • the Bible is just a historical book of God's past work.

  • Yes.

  • That's absolutely right.

  • Pastor Wei,

  • you say God's words and work are limited to what's in the Bible,

  • and that "anything beyond the Bible is heresy,"

  • but isn't that just a fallacy?

  • Exactly.

  • God is the Lord of creation,

  • and His richness is all-encompassing.

  • Yes.

  • Could the entirety of God's work really be only the limited amount recorded in the Bible?

  • God couldn't do new work or speak new words outside the Bible?

  • Isn't that delimiting, belittling, and blaspheming God?

  • Right.

  • So, I asked him:

  • Pastor Wei,

  • Almighty God, Christ of the last days, opens the scroll,

  • and expresses the truth needed to purify and save mankind

  • Yes.

  • but you condemn and resist because Almighty God's words and work go beyond the Bible,

  • and you deceive and block us from investigating the true way.

  • Are you purposely trying to keep us from hearing the Lord's voice and receiving Him?

  • Exactly.

  • I really can't tell

  • whether you're a servant or an enemy of the Lord.

  • Right.

  • Hey, everything I asked him was the truth, wasn't it?

  • Yes, it was.
