  • hello everyone today we're in yokohama

  • we are here to visit one of japan's most popular locations

  • Yokohama Cup Noodle Museum

  • come on along

  • yokohama cup noodles museum is an interactive  museum for children and adults alike

  • in this museum you can learn  about the creative thinking of Momofuku Anod

  • who founded Nissin Food Products

  • and invented its popular Chicken Instant Ramen

  • This place opened in 2011

  • By that time we already had a museum

  • in Ikeda City, Osuka where CUP NOODLES were born

  • but in Kanto in and east side of Japan,

  • we didn't have that type of museum

  • so for visitors in those area

  • we wanted to show Nissin Foods, what Momofuku Ando made

  • To show how and why CUP NOODLES and Chicken Ramen was made

  • and wanted to give hints on invention and discovery

  • we wanted a place to display all that so we made one

  • The reason why we made this place in Yokohama is,

  • Yokohama is a place in Japan,

  • where many new culture came from abroad

  • So as a place for Nissin Foods to send out many messages abroad,

  • Yokohama was the best place to do so

  • Which is the most popular place in this museum?

  • The most important place will be...

  • The MY CUP NOODLES FACTORY

  • You can make you original CUP NOODLES

  • A one of a kind CUP NOODLES

  • This experience is so popular

  • Including people from abroad

  • Momofuku Ando started his business in a small shed in Ikeda town Osaka prefecture

  • He wanted to find a way to make ramen quickly at home

  • without having to stand in line at Ramen shops.

  • it took him around a year to invent "Instant Chicken Ramen"

  • that was dubbed as a magic ramen

  • due to the fact that all that was required to make it was just adding hot water

  • this was revolutionary

  • Back then you could eat ramen in stores,

  • but the starting point was when WW2 ended

  • When Japan was really poor

  • To eat ramen you had to go outdoes in food stands

  • You had to wait in long queues.

  • You could not eat ramen at home

  • To enable people to eat ramen at home

  • For everyone, easily

  • Make it available for everyone

  • We had to make the price cheap

  • while safe to eat

  • If we made such thing,

  • people will be happy

  • What became of those thoughts was the Chicken Ramen

  • The rules we had to keep for the Ramen,

  • was the 5 I said before

  • Being Tasty

  • Can be preserved

  • Easy to cook

  • Safe to eat

  • and keep the price low

  • If we could not keep these rules,

  • we could not have made this Ramen

  • We call it "the 5 rules of development"

  • Today, clearing these 5 rules is quite normal

  • but to keep all 5 rules way back then,

  • The idea of creating something like that

  • was important in producing

  • In Yokohama Cup Noodles Museum,

  • you getwonderful opportunity to use your creativity and create your own cup of noodles

  • with individual design and flavor

  • Make sure to visit their food attraction

  • "World Noodles Road"

  • where you get to taste different foods

  • that the founder Momofuku Ando encountered during his travels in search of the origins of noodles

  • enjoy the ambiance of an asian night  market and noodles from all over the world

  • So on the 4Th floor of this museum you  can order noodles from all over the world

  • Of course i decided to go with the main Ramen of Nissin

  • "Chicken Ramen"

  • You can choose 2 different toppings

  • and to go with this "Chicken  Ramen" I chose egg and roasted pork

  • so let me try

  • so delicious

  • very very nice

  • it tastes....

  • You can taste that these are like instant noodles but it's like it has this nice kind of crunchiness  to it

  • and combined with roasted pork and eggs

  • Wonderful!

  • very very flavorful

  • so spicy though

  • this is the beef

  • super super super tender

  • it just melts on your tongue

  • wow

  • this is the real deal

  • okay... It tastes like you know as if you are mixing soft cream with the instant noodle powder

  • very interesting

  • It doesn't really  taste like instant noodles

  • it's actually sweet

  • but you can taste this flavor  of this instant noodle powder in it

  • interesting

  • so if you're ever looking for a fun experience to try in YOKOHAMA

  • make sure to visit this museum

  • you're not only going to learn about the  history of Cup ramen

  • but you're also going to create your own Cup Noodles
