  • Hi everyone Jennifer from Tarle speech with your  two for Tuesday. We have two words today that are

  • homophones those are words that are pronounced  exactly the same but are spelled differently and

  • have different meanings. So the two words that are  pronounced the same today are weighed which means

  • to find out how heavy or to assess importance  and wait to walk with effort or to walk in water.

  • Here are the words. So to say these words  correctly three little sounds today. Let's

  • start with that w. To do this all you're going to  do is pucker your lips then move to that long a.

  • To do this the tip of your tongue is low in  the mouth back of the tongue is pulled high

  • up with a really wide open mouth move tosmile. As you move to the smile the tongue

  • will move from the bottom of the mouth to behind  the top front teeth and it'll be high and flat. a

  • a a And then we're going to end with that  d sound. To do this touch the tip of your

  • tongue to the back of your top front teeth air  pops out and your voice box is on and moving.

  • Let's give it all a try: wade

  • weighed wade

  • weighed wade

  • weighed

  • And now for a sentence: The gear weighed more than I thought

  • as I had to wade through the water to carry it  to the boat. So give it a try I know people are

  • going to notice the difference. If you found this  helpful we would love a like a share to subscribe
