The Harukas 300 Observatory is located in the 60th floor of the Abeno Harukas building.

It is a great view.

The admission is on the 16th floor of the building, so when you're headed here, you can take the subway or the train to the Tennoji station, and then make your way up to the 16th floor.

It's pretty easy to find the ticket counters, there's a blue line on the floor that you follow.

When you get to the ticket counters, the admission is 1,500 yen, if you're an adult.

Buy your admission ticket, you scan the barcode on the entrance gate, and then you wait for the elevator.

When you get in the elevator, make sure to look up because you can watch a really neat light show on your way from the 19th floor to the 60th floor.

Pretty soon you're at the 60th floor, the elevator doors open, and it opens up to the big observatory.

The thing that I really like about this observatory is they've kept the lights inside dim so that at nighttime, you don't have any big reflections or glare,

and so you can still take pictures out of the windows without taking pictures of everything that's behind you.

I will mention there are no real seats on the 60th floor.

They don't want you to stay there all that long.

So when I was there I found a bunch of people sitting down.

It's 360 degree view, you can walk around and see the view from all the different angles.

At nighttime, there's also a number of kind of neat shows that they project on the glass.

There was one show that kind of looked like it was foggy.

There was another show that had fireworks.

Obviously, there weren't fireworks in Osaka today, was there?

But it sure looked like fireworks.

This is the view to the north, and you can even see the main tower of Osaka Castle. Way, way, way far away.

And then, down here, I think it's pretty cool.

There's a building that has a sign on the top just so you can see it from this tower.

You can get your picture taken with the Abeno Bear, it's a mascot of the observatory.

They'll take the picture with your camera for free.

They'll take a picture with their camera, too, and want ot charge you 1,500 yen for that one.

Once you're done with the observatory floor, it's down the escalator to the shop floor.

They've obviously wanted to put the shop in some place with a wee bit more light.

At the shop you can pick up all the Abeno Bear merchandise you've ever wanted, and maybe some more that you havn't even wanted, but now you do when you're here.

Abeno Bear towel, check.

Abeno Bear bags, check, check.

Abeno Bear tie clip, check, check, check.

And you can even get your Abeno Bear in edible form, as a cookie.

Check, check, check, check, check.

On the 58th floor is the Sky Garden Cafe, where you can get some, surprisingly, not completely overpriced food.

The most interesting thing on their menu, though, was the Hawaiian Puka Dog, 930 yen.

You know where that comes from?

Kauai.

And then you can head just outside from the cafe to the Sky Garden.

It's January when I'm filming this, so it's quite chilly out here.

But on a nice day, this might be a great place to eat some of the food from that cafe and admire the view for longer.

In addition to the tables out here in the garden there is a beer shop where you can get some extra-cold beer.

Not a lot of takers on this chilly January evening.

They've got a place out here set up to take selfies that has a camera stand that you can place your camera.

I think I might just take advantage of that.

And just out here, you can see why it's called the Harukas 300.

The height of the heliport on top is exactly 300 meters.

And there's the latitude and longitude, in case you're interested.
