  • Today's words are buryto put something in the ground.

  • That could be a treasure, could also be a body.

  • And you can also refer to putting a person in a tomb as bury and then also berry which is the fruit.

  • So we have the fruit and then to put something in the ground.

  • These two words are pronounced exactly the same.

  • Yes, they are pronounced exactly the same, spelled differently, different meanings pronounced the same.

  • So to say these two words correctly, we're going to start with the b sound.

  • Put your lips together and let the air puff out as you open your mouth, then moved to that long air vowel.

  • To do this, you are going to open your mouth very wide.

  • And then you are going to close your mouth.

  • As you close your mouth, your mouth is going to become square and tense at the same time.

  • For those of you who struggle with this, our vowel, what you are going to do is your tongue tip is going to be low and the back of your tongue is going to be pulled up to start.

  • Keep your tongue way up towards the roof of your mouth, the back of your tongue, and keep the front of your tongue, your tongue tip, away from your teeth.

  • You do not want to touch your teeth with your tongue. Your tongue will not touch can either be pointed down or flipped back for the end of that vowel.

  • And then your mouth is almost that there, smile a little bit more and your tongue will be nice and high and flat and then say the long E.

  • Let's put it all together.

  • And now for a sentence, He wants to bury the treasure next to the berry bush.

  • He wants to bury the treasure next to the berry bush.

  • Give it a try.

  • I know people are going to notice the difference.
