  • Hi everyone jennifer from Tarle speech  with your two for Tuesday lesson.

  • These words are homophones. They are pronounced  exactly the same but they have different

  • pronunciations and different meanings. Our words  today or are leased which is the past tense

  • meaning um to rent property; and  least meaning the smallest amount.

  • So here are the words leased and least.

  • So to say these words correctly we're going  to think of four sounds. We're going to start

  • with the l sound l you going to touch the tip of  your tongue to the back of your top front teeth

  • To be really specific it's that little  spot between your teeth and your gums.

  • Next we're going to move to the long e.  It is my favorite vowel you just smile

  • your tongue is high and flat in your mouth.

  • Then you are going to keep your  tongue in just about the same position

  • you're going to shift so that all that air can  be moving out of your mouth for the s sound sss.

  • Then touch the tip of your tongue  to the back of your top front teeth

  • for that t sound t. Let's put it all together.

  • least

  • leased

  • least leased least leased least

  • And now for a sentence:

  • She leased the apartment with  the least square footage.

  • Give it a try people are going  to notice the difference.
