Easter eggs - aren't they 'eggceptional'?

We often give these to friends and family to celebrate Easter, and sometimes they have little goodies inside.

They come in all shapes and sizes!

Wow! Look at that one -- it's huge!

Imagine the size of the chicken that laid it!

Cut, Roy! Stop making silly jokes!

Look at that egg, it is clearly made of chocolate!

Really?

A chicken didn't lay that one.

Ok. Now I've got egg on my face!

We use this to say that we're very embarrassed. But seriously, thanks for pointing it out.

You're a good egg.

We use this to say that someone is a good person.

We also go on Easter egg hunts, where my mum hides eggs for you to find.

Cut, Roy! Your mum may hide Easter eggs for you to find, but she doesn't do it for everyone in the world.

Good point.

I'll be more careful. Like I'm treading on eggshells. Which means 'to be careful about what we say or do.'

And when you do find lots of Easter eggs, make sure not to put all your eggs in one container as you might fall and break them.

In fact, we can use the proverb: "don't put all your eggs in one basket" to advise someone against risking everything on one outcome or result.

And it's not just eggs we associate with Easter.

There are hot cross buns, baby chicks, and of course, the Easter Bunny.

Here's a little rabbit now.

Cut, Roy! That's not a rabbit, it's your dog!

She's a rabbit!

As sure as eggs is eggs.

We use this to say that we're certain.
