  • So Gonzaga is the number one seed in the West.

  • They're going to play the winner of Norfolk State, an Appalachian state.

  • Appalachian State winning the Sunbelt, Norfolk State winning the MEAC.

  • Norfolk State hasn't been in the tournament since 2012, when you might recall as a 15 seed, they knocked out Missouri.

  • Kyle O'Quinn.

  • That's right.

  • And then they got House by Florida in the next round, Usually, but that's the way it goes to have those upset, trying to give a little historical perspective here.

  • They got a great draw, though.

  • That was going to say they have Iowa is the two seed Kansas 23 in Virginia?

  • The four?

  • Why is that a good draw for Gonzaga?

  • Because they've already beat the hell out of all of them.

  • Yeah, and I think those are teams that they have handled and can handle.

  • And look, there's nobody out there.

  • Gonzaga cannot beat, but you go again.

  • You know these teams, if they run into any one of them, they have already drilled them.

  • And I think that that favors Gonzaga in that regard you and the other thing to think of guys is when you look at this draw you have Virginia and Kansas.

  • Last night at 11 o'clock Eastern time was a deadline for teams to inform the selection committee whether they could meet medical protocols.

  • No one said that they could.

  • Both the Cavaliers and the Jayhawks had to withdraw from the A, C C and Big 12 tournaments, respectively.

  • But so you don't know where they might not have players available?

  • How much have they been practicing?

  • All those things could affect whether they even get to the level to meet Gonzaga.

  • They might not have players available.

  • They might not be available.

  • I mean, the reality is that's the way things work, but it's training.

  • We think they will.

  • Right now.

  • I do think I actually think it's kind of interesting because playing a team a second time, you have a better idea of what you need to do against that team.

  • Plus, those teams didn't stay the same like you.

  • Look at Kansas.

  • They improved defensively.

  • You look at Iowa, they've improved defensively.

  • Look at Virginia, their DNA change.

  • So just because they ran those teams the first time, very different styles of play for each and every one of those teams though You know you're talking about basically a team that controls the tempo to game in Virginia team that's going to get up and down with a low post player in Iowa and Kansas.

  • I think Kansas at the end of the season was defending about as well as any team in the country.

  • But you know that Kansas and Virginia are not going to be better because of the time that they've been out.

  • They are not going to be better.

  • And and, uh, Iowa is a very good offensive team, but they don't guard.

  • And if you don't guard particularly well, you're not gonna beat Gonzaga.

  • And I think teams have figured out how to play Virginia as well.

  • I mean, all three of their big guys shoot over 40% from the three point line.

  • So teams are starting to allow key Hey, Clark, just forcing him to score the basketball, so I'm not so sure they'll have as much issue with them.

  • Kansas is a little bit smaller now because we don't know what the issue is with David McCormick going forward.

  • I know they'll play small ball, but this Gonzaga team was built to play small ball as well.

  • And I agree with you, J.

  • I absolutely love Iowa.

  • The firepower that they have Luca guards are on the interior is just that Gonzaga has so much more firepower.

  • And I actually think the defense is a little bit better, even at this stage of the season.

  • Beat Gonzaga.

  • You gotta have a forgotten guard, Pittsburgh, because he's gonna play for majority of the time.

  • So the beat Gonzaga, you gotta have a guy that can defend out on the river to defend the three point line, especially in the trail spot when they take it back to him.

  • So, you know, to me, Kansas has a guy that can defend at that spot.

  • I'm not saying they're gonna win, but look, any of these four teams, like, we're gonna look at all the brackets, they're gonna be good teams that have won a ton of games that are gonna have a lot of confidence.

  • So they're going to play someone good, no matter what bracket you're in.

  • But I think these teams we need to give them a little bit more respect from where they were in December and in November.

  • Compared to where they are now with our respected that I respected.

  • I'm going to do anything against them.

  • I'm just saying they got Gonzaga, got a good draw.

  • That is a good draw average.

  • And so the issue is they won't get boat race, obviously, because those teams are so much better now.

  • But I just think it's better to.

  • Baylor just got a number one seed in the South.

  • We'll talk about that a minute.

  • They're going to play your Hartford Hawks there, Seth and the 1 16 game.

  • We'll give them a minute.

  • But first, let's go over the West region.

  • We talked a little bit about some of them.

  • Look at the old Big 12 matchup in the 89 game with Oklahoma and Missouri that before Missouri moved to the SEC.

  • Obviously, Creighton, which just absolutely got obliterated in the Big East championship game they take on U C Santa Barbara.

  • The Gauchos come in a team that's capable of winning.

  • We had three of the 12 seeds in the last tournament beat five and Virginia and Ohio Ohio, the Bobcats coming in out of the Mac first bid since they went to the tournament in 2013 as a 13 seed.

  • And you know where the Bobcats wound up that year was a sweet 16.

  • Baby beat Georgetown.

  • Do it again.

  • You like the bracket there?

  • Can't see it over here.

  • Well, I always got Jason Preston, who is the Lamelo ball of the tournament.

  • You have just 16 points, about seven rebounds, seven assists, and as a wizard with the basketball, they're not just him, but but he is a difference maker at the point guard position.

  • I'll tell you what, you at the top, really, the whole bracket.

  • This is open for Gonzaga because I don't think either Oklahoma or Missouri playing his best basketball late in the season.

  • Creighton.

  • Obviously, the terrible game.

  • It's Georgetown now, the bottom part of the bracket.

  • Look who's back in there against Iowa.

  • You've got Bryce Drew at Grand Canyon, getting his team.

  • I'm looking at Wichita again.

  • Straight.

  • That means Wichita drink are both in those two teams that are on the bubble.

  • So you know what?

  • When you look at that, if you like teammates on the bubble right now, you are concerned.

  • Not.

  • Although although Drake doesn't have Roman pen and he's not coming back.

  • That's a little bit surprising, but I like the fact that Drake got in, uh, to reward a great season.

  • They're hoping to I think Drake is that they get tank him fell back.

  • They're not going to get pen back.

  • That would certainly be helpful to them if they're able to do it.

  • And, uh, you saw that part of the bracket Gonzaga will be the prohibitive favorite as an undefeated team ought to be.

  • Uh, but, you know, I mean, there could be challenges along the way, but it looks like things have broken well for the Zags.
