  • Hi, I'm Carmen Lynne with Expert Village, and we're talking about dreams. Now if you're

  • one of those people that has difficulty remembering your dreams, even though you know you've dreamt

  • but you can't quite remember what you've dreamt, there are some little tips and techniques

  • that I can tell you which will help you. First off, if the alarm goes off in the morning

  • and it wakes you up, fine. When you're lying in bed and the alarm's just gone off, do not

  • move. So don't change your position in the bed. Stay there in the same position. The

  • reason being that, it's weird, it's like when you move around it almost kind of knocks the

  • dream out of your head in a strange way. Okay so that's the first thing; maintain that still

  • position while you start recoiling the dream. The dream may come back in little fragments

  • and little pieces, so what you want to do is just latch onto it. If you remember an

  • image, a color, a person, a feeling, latch onto those things and kind of pull that dream

  • back in those little fragments. The other thing, the other tip I have, is that if you

  • have a dream in the middle of the night or at some time during the night, and it wakes

  • you up, you wake up out of the dream. Very often you say to yourself, oh I'm going to

  • remember this dream in the morning. This dream was so vivid absolutely I'm going to remember

  • it. Then you'll find you wake up and oh my god it's just totally gone, and that's frustrating

  • isn't it? So what you need to do is have a pen and paper by your bed, and somewhere where

  • it's very easy for you to just roll over and just grab that pen and scroll down. Scroll

  • down anything about the dream that you remember because it's going to help you to remember

  • the whole dream. So if, for example, you just scroll down a few words, you know there was

  • a box in the dream I remember that, so just write down box, or the number six, or whatever

  • it may be. Anything that can help you remember that dream later on. And sometimes we like

  • to use a pen that has a little light on the end of it, like a little flashlight pen or

  • particularly if you do sleep with a partner, and you don't want to disturb them while you're

  • writing your dreams in the middle of the night. So then you would then be able to just roll

  • over and literally just have the little flashlight on so that you can write you're dreams in

  • the middle of the night. So it's very important, and you'll also find that the more you write

  • your dreams down, it's like once they feel like they're being payed attention to, they

  • start to come more. So the more you write them down, the easier it will be for you to

  • remember them in the future. So that's just a few tips on remembering your dreams better.
