  • Alright another very important tip for maintaining relationships is twofold. Listening and not

  • judging. When I'm talking about listening, I'm not talking about hearing. I'm talking

  • about when your partner is talking to you, trying to have a conversation with you, is

  • possibly upset about something, don't tune them out. Don't focus on the television, then

  • you're just hearing them. You need to truly listen to each other. You can even make comments

  • like, "I hear what you're saying and this is how I feel about it." But, listen to each

  • other and don't judge what each other say or feel. Especially before you've heard the

  • whole story, the whole story. She said, "Oh, I hate my boss." Well, you automatically start

  • judging, "Oh, here we go. I know where this is going to go. She's going to complain about

  • her work, she's going to complain about her job, and then she's going to ask me if she

  • can quit." Don't judge! Just be a supportive listener. And, if the other person wants your

  • response, give it. Otherwise, sometimes, people just need someone to listen.
