  • Let's hear what she has to say about her picks for best of 2019 from a guy who lives off the grid in Hong Kong to a couple who makes their own tea leaves.

  • Thes people showed us that there is much more to life outside the hustle and bustle of the city.

  • So without further ado, our best nature stories of 2000 and 19, first step is this adorable piece on cockroaches.

  • Our producer, Venus, has been obsessed with these birds for years, so it is a dream come true for her to finally be able to do this story.

  • Here's a snippet from the video.

  • This'll is a critically endangered yellow crested cockatoo.

  • The bird has been nearly wiped out from its original habitats in Southeast Asia.

  • Globally, there are only 2000 left in the wild, but about 10% of them have found an unlikely sanctuary in Hong Kong.

  • The population that we have here is actually quite important to the survival of the species, although they're not from China.

  • These beautiful, boisterous birds have found a new home in the concrete jungle E.

  • Next we met a guy who lives off the grid in a remote part of Hong Kong.

  • He gets his power from solar panels and cooks with a wood fire stove.

  • He lives here with his wife and son and even makes toys for his son.

  • Using recycled waste, we went to his home and talked to him about life in Hong Kong's wild Take a look.

  • My name myself Yemen is because in Chinese, Yuh Yemen means living in the wild way.

  • Spent an hour traveling from Hong Kong's bustling city center to the rural countryside to visit Yemen.

  • For 13 years, Yemen has been living in the countryside, and recently he's been living completely off the grid.

  • Which means he doesn't rely on the city's water and electricity supply.

  • One of China's hottest influencers and, you could say a Jane of all trades.

  • She makes her own furniture, grows her own food and embroiders her own pillows.

  • It's no wonder why she has over 50 million fans in China.

  • She's quite elusive, but we managed to get an interview with her.

  • Check out this clip.

  • Lee grew up with her grandparent's here, she says She came to live with, um after her stepmother mistreated her, but they were poor.

  • So when she turned 14, Lee went to work in the city.

  • In 2000 and 12, she decided to return to the countryside to take care of her grandmother.

  • Four years later, she started filming her life.
