  • What was your big impression from yesterday that nobody made or missed the playoffs in South Bend last night?

  • That game is gonna have toe likely be replayed.

  • That's gonna mean a lot for Notre Dame.

  • It's gonna mean even Mawr, maybe for Clemson.

  • So we can't become prisoners of the moment off.

  • What happened last night?

  • Notre Dame's big win?

  • My biggest take away is the Irish made a huge statement last night.

  • It was truly put up or shut up.

  • Time for Ian Book and his entire team.

  • They responded toe every punch, every jab that the Clemson Tigers through it them.

  • They really demanded and commanded the entire line of scrimmage the entire game.

  • I thought he did a great job of distributing the ball to the receivers.

  • The defense played lights out with or without Trevor.

  • They Notre Dame won this game on.

  • They did it the right way.

  • Heather, what do you think?

  • Well, I'll build on what both of you gentlemen said and take it one step further.

  • The A C C.

  • Has to top four teams.

  • I think that was clear in Clemson and Notre Dame only being separated by a touchdown and double overtime.

  • But don't discount the possibility of two SEC teams because guys Ford is in control of the East on a collision course, too.

  • Face Alabama in the SEC championship game.

  • And if they win, it takes one upset to see Alabama and Florida in the top four.

  • To Tigers get a ton of credit, though.

  • They won 39 consecutive regular season games, including 28 straight against A C C opponents 25 of those in conference play.

  • Clemson had won 14 on the road straight before going down in double overtime.

  • As we said last night in South Bend.

  • So obviously that sort of game gives us a ton to react to.

  • I want to go back to Tom Luginbill, Tom, you said earlier in your kickoff, you commented on this.

  • So when you look at Notre Dame, this one game doesn't put them into the playoffs for you.

  • I don't think it can in a crazy up and down season like we're having.

  • You've got to take each and every week and compartmentalize it because you don't know which team you're gonna be playing with each and every week.

  • Talking to coaches each week, preparing for games.

  • They might find out on a Friday or a Saturday morning that they're gonna be down.

  • Five guys, they're gonna be down.

  • 10 guys were.

  • Maybe you have to cancel the game.

  • We don't know that.

  • And so that's why I think you've got to take the win and take it with a grain of salt.

  • Not not to, you know, in any way, shape or form.

  • Take away from the performance, but what's in front of you?

  • Number one.

  • You got Boston College coming up.

  • You can't be drunk off of this win versus Clemson.

  • Ah, lot of football remains to be seen, but I'll say this about Notre Dame.

  • They are 30 and three in their last 33 games, so they know how to win.

  • But what they did last night was something hadn't done before is they beat a team in two ways.

  • They beat a team that was athletically superior to them, and they beat them because they were better in the trenches.

  • Kudos to Notre Dame on those two areas.

  • All right, thanks for watching ESPN on YouTube for live streaming sports and premium content.
