  • But today we are going to tackle one of the most common mistakes

  • that English learners make all the time.

  • That is between the Present Perfect and the Simple Past tense.

  • Now we'll start out with a quick example.

  • In the sentence "I've lived in Barcelona for five years."

  • that would mean that in the past I moved to Barcelona and I'm still living in Barcelona.

  • However, if we change it to "I lived in Barcelona for five years" that would imply that...

  • in the past I moved to Barcelona, but now I am living somewhere else.

  • Now, this is just the tip of the iceberg with this complicated tense but we're gonna make a lot more fu

  • and easy for you with today's lesson.

  • So, we'll start out with a quiz to see how much you already know about the Present Perfect tense

  • before moving into the full lesson.
