  • We're looking at games where you can challenge shopkeepers and merchants toe a fight, some maybe played for laughs, whereas others may force you to crank your skills up a notch.

  • These two Bethesda franchises are perfect if you're looking to mess with shopkeepers from pick pocketing to stealing things with the Level 100 sneak skill.

  • Both fallout and the elder schools have made it too much fun to mess with.

  • Merchants see an expensive item you need simply snag it while crouching to get it for free from never should have come with a while.

  • You're at it.

  • Why not steal all the clothes off your victim and just for giggles, place some poison or mine in their pockets and watch the magic unfold.

  • Being a thieving scumbag has never felt so good coming.

  • Okay, No.

  • Number nine Earthbound Earthbound features a wide assortment of weird and absurd characters.

  • And oddly enough, it does allow you to steal from one particular vendor.

  • While you're strolling about happy happy Village, you may stumble upon a stand selling eggs and bananas.

  • Questionable combinations aside, stealing from this stand will cause a nearby, unassuming local guy toe attack.

  • Don't fret.

  • He's far from a beefcake, especially compared to our other entries on this list.

  • You should be able to take him down in less than a minute.

  • Not only did you enact your crime, but you made sure you got away with it.

  • Ancient Domains of Mystery Most shopkeepers in games try to be fair and give players the benefit of the doubt.

  • Some are more than willing to sell you whatever you need.

  • The shopkeepers in Adam, on the other hand, are much more defensive.

  • Sure, they'll get aggressive over shoplifting or hostility.

  • That's understandable.

  • However, If you have an evil aura, there's a chance that they'll start attacking the second you approach them.

  • So maybe being a goody two shoes does pay off.

  • Who we kidding?

  • Bring the pain.

  • Number seven.

  • Enter the gun Gin.

  • Thanks.

  • Bello is the kind of shopkeeper you don't want to mess around with.

  • We can understand why players might want to, though, what with this sometimes obscenely inflated prices.

  • Despite doing business in a dungeon themed around guns, Bellow holds a strict no shooting policy.

  • Pull the trigger once and he'll whip out his shotgun.

  • Dude clearly isn't kidding around Fire a second time, and he will unleash Hell, thank you.

  • If you've somehow managed to dodge through his reign of bullets, the screen will eventually go black before revealing that Bello has taken off with all of his wares.

  • It's all good, man.

  • Well, just straight up.

  • Steal from you next time.

  • Number six spot Lunke Theo Shopkeepers and Spanky often dance the line between extremely naive and insanely aggressive.

  • Most of the time, it all depends on your encounters with previous merchants.

  • Sure, we've all shot the merchants with their own product just to get a free weapon.

  • But at what cost?

  • For the rest of the shopkeepers, Thio instantly attack us the second we walk through the door.

  • Yeah, it can be a hassle to deal with, but hey, we've got a free weapon and we'll do it again in Spanky to Why?

  • Well, it's funny.

  • Do we need another reason?

  • Number five crypt of the Necro dancer.

  • Oh, Whoa!

  • Uh huh.

  • Good old Freddie Merchant Tree.

  • Yes, that is his name is a delightful chap to be around.

  • As you explore the many floors of the crypt, you can tell he's close by listening to his captivating opera vocals singing along with the games music.

  • Although, if you've had some weird urged off the sky, you can bear warning though he ain't easy.

  • In addition to moving in any direction he wants, including diagonally, Freddie boasts nine hearts and then attack Power of 10 meaning he will basically insta kill you up to the challenge.

  • Just plant a bomb next to him and make sure you can exact your plan.

  • Number four.

  • Haiti's.

  • I wasn't stealing from you.

  • Honestly, that was not an understanding sound.

  • Most of the shopkeepers on this list have either been one off jokes or very brief combat encounters.

  • The merchant in Haiti's Karen is not so brief and not so easy.

  • Steal an item from him and he will challenge you to a fight so Grace will try to talk his way out of it.

  • But Karen isn't listening, thanks to his or Carolyn can cover.

  • Quite a bit of range from just swinging at you and his abilities.

  • Ghost charge and floor wave cover a lot of ground.

  • If you manage to get care on down to about 20% of his health, he'll end the fight and reward you with, ah, loyalty card.

  • Well, discounts are always nice, so we'll take what we can get.

  • Point.

  • Did I win?

  • Uh huh.

  • Number three.

  • Resident evil four.

  • Yeah.

  • Arguably the most famous of all of our entries.

  • The Merchant from Resident Evil four is not one to cause you trouble.

  • Sure, he looks shady, like really shady, but he won't harm you.

  • There's nothing stopping you from harming him, though.

  • Unfortunately, it comes at a price.

  • If you're playing on professional difficulty.

  • If the merchant gets killed, whether it's from zombies or Leon shotgun, he will not show up for the remainder of the game.

  • In other words, you just unlocked a new difficulty.

  • Good luck on the rest of your adventure, you murderous psychopath.

  • Number two South Park, The fractured butthole.

  • You think your farts air pretty bad, kids?

  • Well, I'll be gentle you're sure you're ready.

  • While Morgan Freeman isn't the vendor you'll visit often in Fractured Butthole, you can buy crafting materials from him.

  • He sells stuff, therefore he makes the list.

  • If you manage to get behind the counter, you can hit Morgan Freeman a couple of times to initiate a boss fight.

  • Here's the kicker, though.

  • Morgan Freeman is the hardest boss in the entire game, with a health bar at 9999 and attacks that can cover nearly the entire field, you're going to have to utilize almost every power possible as well as items that can call in characters to assist you.

  • I suppose I should call it, but honestly, I can't even do it.

  • Needless to say, he gives you a run for your money.

  • And if you want to get all the achievements, it's a requirement to defeat him.

  • You have potential, kid.

  • Maybe I'll leave the old taco shop to you in my will.

  • Be prepared for a tough fight.

  • Most of her moves will either cover most of your area or trap you and rigor spaces with explosives or shards.

  • Basically, she's one of the hardest shopkeepers to fight in games, and the fact that her defeat is required to unlock a different ending makes her one of the best shopkeepers toe fight in the mood for more awesome gaming content.
