You can email your documents as an attachment from within Google docks, helping you save time and control access to your work.

The imperative

To find the feature, just click file, then email as attachments.

From here, you're essentially sending an email with your Gmail account.

You can enter an email address, create a subject line and write a message.

Click the drop down menu in the bottom left to choose the file type for your attachment.

If you select the don't attach check box, you can even include your document within the body of the email.

This may help if the recipient can't open certain files.

You don't need to share the document with anyone or change the permissions.

Lee sends a static copy of your document to the recipient.

It does not give them access to the Google doc itself.

It's worth noting that when you send your document with Google docks, the email it generates will not appear in the sent messages of your Gmail.

However, if the recipient response to your email their response will appear in your Gmail.
