  • After all the work to get to the bubble, the NBA world came to a screeching halt after the Bucks walked out of a playoff game.

  • Yeah, it sparked a small revolution.

  • Other major sports followed.

  • This'd isn't just about basketball.

  • We aren't just basketball players.

  • Athletes returned to the courts and Fields came with a more focused mission way.

  • We encourage all citizens to educate themselves and remember to vote on November 3.

  • A call to action.

  • There's so many things that we need to change.

  • For me, if there was one,

  • it's voting.

  • In order to resume the season, players wanted their teams to take action and help provide additional voting access, resulting in 21 NBA owners agreeing to work with election officials to convert their arenas and practice facilities into polling places for the 2020 election.

  • The reason that it's important is because it's fixing a need around the nation.

  • You could see more and more polling locations closing.

  • There's some places they have one polling location.

  • How specific call with our owners and for them to hear how important some of these initiatives are.

  • To know the Staples Center is gonna be a polling site for voting is unbelievable.

  • LeBron James announced he was starting more than a vote back in June.

  • A push to fight black voter suppression with the help of other athletes and entertainers.

  • Now, with the league behind the effort to raise awareness, there was suddenly large sign and games.

  • Public service announcements.

  • My vote is my right.

  • Yes, everyone has an equal vote, but not everyone has equal access to voting and warm up shirts with a new message.

  • Vote, vote, vote, vote, vote.

  • But with NBA and WNBA being predominantly black, educating the community on how every vote matters has been in the forefront of the movement to promote increase voter turnout on both local and national elections.

  • I have had generations of African Americans, especially my grand parents that have marched and have fought for the right to vote.

  • You slept with our heads in the mud every day trying for justice.

  • People got killed.

  • So how can you not exercise it regardless what you think you can go in there and cast your ballot?

  • Black kids and black people in the community don't believe that their vote matters.

  • My goal is to change that. Voter suppression is real, because if you feel like that, a few of your homies might feel like that.

  • So that's 20 of y'all that feel like that.

  • And then if they spread that same feeling of their family members, that's a few 100 100 million people did not vote in 2016 and one out of every five people that are eligible to vote no aren't registered.

  • Everyone's vote does matter.

  • And if you believe that it doesn't, that's probably because you've been led to believe that way.

  • Some people's best interest for you not to vote.

  • I think we've all had our reasons why we haven't gone out to the post, but right now our lives are on the line and it is more important than ever now we need to care about who represents us.

  • People decide who gets charged with crimes, and 11 everybody looks kind of at the top level when you can affect change at the smaller levels within our communities.

  • Picking who's in that position to be to make decisions on the future of whether it's through health was education.

  • It's important that people understand voting is important.

  • We've got a lot of problems with all those things to fix.

  • I don't think we can fix any of them unless we do this.

  • No vote, no country.

  • This really might be the most important election ever because a lot of people are banking on democracy.

  • You know, a lot of people are banking on, not the divided states of America.

  • We're counting on the United States of America.
