  • Staten Island.

  • Sounds pretty safe.

  • Yeah, you know what?

  • When the whole breakout happened, I think we had the lowest number of cases.

  • So Staten Island did you know we did pretty well during this.

  • You That's great.

  • And you're not going.

  • Are you going stir crazy during quarantine?

  • Or are you able to stay kind of saying not like to think of myself as an extroverted introvert?

  • More more on the introverted side.

  • So this was a like this was vacationing for me.

  • I'm good.

  • You're good.

  • You're good.

  • That's great.

  • I just said that was cool.

  • I'm not sure it's cool.

  • I'm really not sure.

  • I have no idea.

  • The fact that you're doing it makes it cool.

  • So, e think if I if I think if I started telling people Yeah, I'm doing a lot of puzzles during quarantine.

  • I take some shit for it, but you're not going to take any shit for it.

  • E o plus like a fight E.

  • And I can't.

  • Okay.

  • All right.

  • Uh, all right, now I wanna have a question for you, which is I've got kids.

  • And I could never convince them that anything I do is cool.

  • That's gotta be different for you, right?

  • It's got to be.

  • You know what?

  • In the beginning, when they were younger because my son's first words were Wu Tang, my first son.

  • That's fantastic, right?

  • But as they got older and you know, we living in this millennial era now and they're mawr, they need to have it now.

  • Instant gratification.

  • I don't think they think I'm a school as I used to be.

  • So now I have to remind them, like, you know, I people love me all over the world.

  • I'm pretty famous, You know?

  • What I mean is like, you guys have no idea like I should respect me.

  • You should be bowing at my feet right now.

  • That is a big deal.

  • Yeah, but you know it.

  • It doesn't work.

  • That way.

  • No, no, not at all.

  • To them.

  • You're just dad, you know, Dad's and never cool.

  • Yeah, but what about let's say you're walking down the street back when we could all walk down the street and you see someone walked by.

  • We're in the Wu Tang Clan T shirt because those air everywhere and the logos everywhere do they get do they Do they give you the respect?

  • Then you know what?

  • That's funny that you brought that up because I recently passed somebody on the street with Tang t shirt on.

  • I mean, like, passed right by him.

  • And they didn't speak to me.

  • They had no idea I was me.

  • But I get it.

  • I get it because I could be wearing I don't know what Judas Priest shirt only person I know from Judas Priest is the lead singer.

  • If I saw him, I could pick him out of line up.

  • The drummer, the bass guitarist, the guitarist.

  • They could be standing right next to me.

  • I wouldn't even know.

  • And I have had their T shirt on.

  • Yeah, that's happened to me.

  • I've passed people on the street that we're in a cone and t shirt and they stopped me.

  • And they say, Excuse me, ma'am.

  • Do you know where the coffee job is?

  • So I've I've been there.

  • Most people think I'm an older French woman.

  • They just have no idea.

  • But you know what I got to say?

  • You have.

  • You have such great first of all, method, man.

  • Such a fantastic name.

  • Such a great name.

  • And you consider that your stage name.

  • But do people in real life when you go out of the bank and you say, Yeah, I want to get I wanted, you know, do this transaction.

  • Did they say yes, Method man, Is that what they say I want?

  • I want that to be true.

  • I go to a couple of different branches.

  • The really cool branch that I go to that's in my close to my old neighborhood.

  • They call me Method Man.

  • Very cool girls over there.

  • Very cool.

  • But the person that I've been going to since I've opened my account, this lady named Lori at Citibank.

  • She known me for 18 years, so she has every right to call me Cliff.

  • Okay?

  • All right.

  • She can do that that she's earned the right?

  • Yes.

  • You've got such great nicknames, Johnny Blaze.

  • Yeah, that's one of them.

  • I want a Kalyan Italian.

  • That's fantastic.

  • You know, uh, Staten Island's finest, uh, cackles hot vehicles.

  • Okay, that was just a silly name that came up with.

  • And it was supposed to represent, like, hot loaded nickel, nine millimeter bullets.

  • But you see how I went crazy with it and turn in the hot Nixon?

  • Because I had this big Nixon thing going on this stuff, and I just like the way Nixon talk.

  • He was crooked himself.

  • But I just like the way you talk.

  • I am not a crook.

  • Uh, you know what?

  • First of all, your That's the first Nixon impression anyone's busted out on this show in maybe forever.

  • That's fantastic.

  • And it was very good.

  • You know what I love?

  • There's a Wu Tang name.

  • Generator online, and you can put your own name in you're really name.

  • And then it tells you what your Wu Tang name would be.

  • Have you tried?

  • You know what?

  • I did it.

  • I did it.

  • And my nickname my Wu Tang name when I put in Conan O'Brien is thunderous observer.

  • Now that's dope.

  • That's good, right?

  • That's that's dope.

  • I like that a lot.

  • I like that a lot myself when I put my name and it came up Method man, believe it or not.

  • But then I did it a couple of more times after that.

  • And it was some crazy throat wizard or some some something weird like that.

  • You know, everything is wizard.

  • I ran into a lot of people and, you know, they get wizard at the end of the name or whatever.

  • I guess it's a Smith thing.

  • I don't know.

  • I don't know.

  • I don't know.

  • All I know is you're talking to thunderous observer.

  • I love that.

  • I love that it goes with the O'Brien thing.

  • So, you know.

  • Yeah, I think I could slide right in tow.

  • No, no.

  • Counting the thunderous observer, O brien.

  • I mean, we might as well put a microphone in your hand and put you right on stage right now.

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah.

  • People would throw batteries at me, aren't they?

  • Would really whip batteries at me hard.

  • You know, I want to compliment you.

  • I saw this picture of you on its from teenage bounty hunters.

  • And you're in six shape.

  • You must work out constantly.

  • Five times a week.

  • Each day is a different body parts.

  • And you know, I'm learning a lot about myself.

  • I'm learning my limitations.

  • If anything can humble you in this world, it's the gym.

  • Please believe yes what I do, because clearly you and I work out about the same hold for laughter.

  • Yeah, but my question my question.

  • Is this what I do?

  • It helps me a lot to listen to music.

  • It motivates me.

  • Do you ever listen to your music while you're working out?

  • Yes, I do sometimes not too much.

  • But I like to listen to more of my current stuff.

  • I listen to Spotify so I just like to play.

  • Let's play.

  • So I get a feel of what's today, what's yesterday and from the far past.

  • Ah, lot of the music today, though I have to admit, I didn't like it at first because I was more into my 90 stuff.

  • But the more I listened, the more I understood.

  • Thes kids got something going on.

  • Man, I I applaud them and I have to applaud excellence they're doing.

  • It is I think sometimes it's just natural as you go on your always.

  • It's very easy to get stuck.

  • It's very easy to get stuck in.

  • No, this is the way.

  • It's the same thing with comedy.

  • I can think.

  • No, this is what comedy is, and you've got to keep watching the new people coming up, and you've got to be paying attention to what they're doing.

  • And still, sometimes I'll think sometimes, no, I don't like that.

  • But then there are so many times when I think that person's fantastic way kind of nominate ourselves as, uh, the gatekeepers off the art form.

  • Whereas there are no gatekeepers, this thing always changes.

  • It always develops.

  • And it always has something new.

  • Someone's going to breathe fresh air into it.

  • You just wish it was you.

  • Let's talk about power book to okay, Ghost.

  • You're a lawyer.

  • There's a lawyer in this, then and you were reluctant at first when you found out the role was a lawyer, you weren't sure.

  • Is that right?

  • Well, not exactly reluctant.

  • Not exactly apprehensive.

  • I was taken aback for a second.

  • Yeah, because you know, I'm here in power and you know, I'm a fan of the show.

  • and most of the show in my eyes is like, you know, where I would fit in, pop, pop, pop, pop out Just the guns off Go out there, smack somebody around, extort money.

  • But the agent told me No, no, no.

  • This is a spin off, and they want you to be a lawyer.

  • So I thought about it.

  • It's like, Oh, yeah, yeah, I could do that.

  • I prepared all my life for this.

  • E could be a warrior.

  • No problem whatsoever.

  • But I auditioned, and I, uh, I got the part.

  • The funny thing is, be prior to this year's before this during my acting classes, I had toe reenact the scene from Philadelphia and I played the Denzel Park.

  • My scene partner played the Tom Hanks part.

  • So what kind of prepared for this?

  • That's right.

  • Yeah.

  • I mean, I would think to be no better teacher than toe watch, Denzel, you know, playing a lawyer and and okay, this is gonna help you.

  • You can.

  • You can maybe access some of that for this role.

  • 94% of Hollywood has learned or taken from Denzel Washington.

  • Fight me.

  • That's a fact.

  • Fight me if you disagree?

  • I will fight you.

  • You know what?

  • I wasn't gonna fight you.

  • If you weren't on Staten Island right now, I would fight you.

  • That's the only thing saving your ass at this.

  • Okay?

  • All right.

  • Well, I'm just Thank God you're not.

  • Instead, you look legitimately scared, and you should be because you wanna mess.

  • Look at this.

  • He's one of my favorite parts.

  • He's absolutely hilarious and a great spirit.

  • And this is why I know that you guys are comedic geniuses.

  • I mean, just think off the top of the head sometimes that you do in your interviews.

  • Because I watch, You know, I look for a train wreck Toe happen, brother.

  • And you have yet yet to be on that track.

  • I e got some footage I could send you from the early nineties.
