  • Hello.

  • This is Elliot from E T J.

  • English.

  • Now I get this question asked a lot on when I say a lot, I mean a lot by students on also by people who are subscribe to my YouTube.

  • They say to me, Elliot, I tried to learn English.

  • You know, I try really hard.

  • I tried to remember everything on die study really hard.

  • But when it comes to actually speaking with a native English speaker, I just forget everything.

  • I don't know what to say.

  • I don't know what phrases to use, and everything kind of leaves my mind.

  • Well, today I'm going to kind of address this issue from a teaching perspective.

  • So from my point of view, how you can improve on start remembering things First problem with this is that you're trying to learn to quickly a lot of people, you know, they want results and they want them fast.

  • But what you don't understand is that English takes time.

  • Any language takes time.

  • Imagine you're a builder on.

  • You've been set a task to build a house.

  • If you try to build this house really fast and you try to get it done as quick as you can when you finished.

  • Let's say you finish after a week on.

  • You just tried to get it done.

  • Just finish the job and get it done quickly.

  • Then probably it will start falling apart.

  • It will fall down very fast.

  • But let's say you tried to build this house.

  • You know, you took your time on you made sure everything was right.

  • You paid attention to detail, making sure every single part every brick was built in the right way on top of each other on the house was built properly.

  • You would then probably realized that the house will stay together correctly built, and it will stay together for a much longer period of time.

  • The same goes with English.

  • It's like building a house.

  • You've got to start from the bottom, and you have to slowly build your way up.

  • If you want good results, then you have to take your time.

  • I talk about this in my previous video, where I tell an English Children's story on, I kind of explain a little story and tell you the meaning behind that speed at which you should learn English, how fast you should learn it, but you can learn English fast.

  • It's a very simple answer to how you can learn English quickly, and that's if you use it.

  • You have to use the language.

  • So what do I mean by this?

  • I mean, you need to be reading things in English every day.

  • You need to practice talking to foreign friends, on Facebook or on email.

  • If you don't have any foreign friends, find some.

  • Find someone who you can practice with.

  • You can practice with May and my speaking lessons you can.

  • You can read the news.

  • You can watch sports or in English.

  • If you're using it and you're surrounding yourself with it, then you're going to be able to improve faster.

  • Don't just set yourself 30 minutes every day and expect yourself to be learning quickly.

  • You have to surround yourself with the language and use it.

  • Use it.

  • Use it on Do use it some more.

  • Also, you need to surround yourself with passions When you're learning English, The best way to remember what you're learning is by learning it in a way that you enjoy.

  • Let's say you love football or you love politics, then learn English with one of thes subjects.

  • Read the news, read the politics news in English on practice, saying it out loud to yourself, watch football and listened to English commentary.

  • When you're watching it on, you will be able to pick things up, and it will be more memorable because it's something you enjoy.

  • If you're just reading a textbook, you're not really going to get very far because they're boring.

  • I've read a lot of text books in my life, and I haven't enjoyed any of them.

  • They've been terrible.

  • So really, The reason why most people forget things when they when it comes to actually speaking is because they haven't had enough practice.

  • Success comes from practicing your new language, so if you have a native to practice with, that is the quickest way.

  • That's why I do my lessons.

  • But I've given you some other ways in which you can do that.

  • In this video, and in all of my other videos, I explain different ways, which you can utilize your own skills on your own interest for learning English.

  • But it all comes down to using the language that's the most important thing.

  • The road to English fluency doesn't come overnight.

  • It does take time on.

  • Do you just need to hang in?

  • When you feel like you're getting stuck and you're getting bored, then you need to just change it up a bit, find a new way to learn on, find something that makes it more enjoyable.
