  • our two words today are ankle which is the joint connecting the leg to the foot

  • and uncle your father's brother this is a

  • very popular request so here you go everybody

  • so our words are again ankle and uncle the ending parts are

  • going to be the same so let's talk about those

  • first we're going to start with k that sound tip of the tongue is down

  • back of the tongue is pulled up cool and then you're going to move the tip of

  • the tongue to the back of the top front teeth some people think about this as

  • having no vowel there just moving the tongue

  • whatever works for you kul kul kul

  • now for the ang part the mistake that i hear is i'll

  • hear people say an with an n sound so why is that what's

  • the mistake here for this ng sound is two letters that is

  • one sound the tip of your tongue is touching

  • the back of the um bottom front teeth or is low and the bottom of the mouth

  • and the back is pulled up ng ng

  • air is moving out of the nose the mistake again is that i see

  • people touching the back of the top front teeth and saying n n

  • the air is still moving out of your nose yes these sounds are

  • very similar but to an american they are distinct and they are distinct in

  • english so again we are going to touch the tip of the tongue to the bottom

  • front teeth

  • so i have my tongue there while i'm saying that ang

  • sound and i'm just closing my mouth so again my tongue is there

  • and i'm just closing my mouth then i'm going to move to the

  • ang kul ankle so my talk is way down here most of the

  • time ang kul ankle

  • ang kul so again all the way down and it only

  • moves up for the l and remember touch the tip of your

  • tongue to the back of your top front teeth for that

  • for the ung again your tongue is ready for that ng sound again two

  • letters one sound but your mouth is more closed for this

  • sound ung ung

  • and then we end with the kul uncle

  • un kul ankle uncle

  • ankle ankle ankle uncle uncle uncle and now for a sentence

  • my uncle broke his ankle give it a try i know people are going to notice the
