hey everybody Jennifer from Tarle speech with your pronunciation question
today's question is how do I pronounce the word editor and an editor is the
person who looks for mistakes in your texts so let's go ahead and jump right
in everyone's favorite schwa sound is back again today and we also have a flap
T showing up so let's go ahead and jump right in
we have Ed to start the word just like the man's name for this we're going
to save the short eh sound and then move to a d
by touching the tip of your tongue to the back of your top front teeth and for
this sound your voice box is going to be on and moving Ed
next move to that schwa the short uh sound remember in English when we have the
schwa syllable that is the shortest softest lowest pitched sound in that
word it's one little teeny tiny beat the uh and as a tip link it to the first syllable and
so it'll sound nice and natural without any breaks there Eda Eda next end with
der which is our last syllable I know that the flap T is not technically a D
but for most of my students just saying a D sound helps tremendously and it
really does sound like that flap T sound once you get good at it so what you're
going to do is then end with the er and again for the ER sound think of having
square tense lips tip of your tongue it's either pointed down towards the
bottom of your mouth or flipped back and away from your front teeth just do not
touch your teeth and do not let that tongue move let's put it all together
Ed uh der eda editor editor editor editor the editor finalized the draft of the
book the editor finalized the draft of the book give it a try people are
definitely going to notice the difference if you found this helpful
