I always loved princesses.
-
I loved watching the movies about them.
-
I loved dressing up as them.
-
My job is to make people's dreams come true.
-
I own the Los Angeles Princess Company.
-
These are all my costumes.
-
These are all the wigs.
-
I have a section for each character.
-
And then each of them has their own makeup, which is really important to me because nobody
-
naturally looks like all these characters.
-
You kind of have to know how to make yourself look like them a little bit.
-
I always thought I was going to be a professional actor, and I was for a long time, but I quickly
-
found that this was the thing that people were willing to pay for.
-
And I still kind of consider myself a real actor, but I can't really, like, go on auditions
-
all the time anywhere or anything like that.
-
My specialty is really performing.
-
So I always try to really bring the character to life.
-
I used to think it was really extreme to wear colored contacts for this job.
-
But kids notice everything.
-
This is Cinderella.
-
Alright, I think we're ready to go.
-
I need coffee or else I might not make it through the day.
-
I'm not selling myself as a Disney princess.
-
Cinderella's in the public domain.
-
Not every other character is.
-
But I don't use their copyrighted names.
-
But I play by the rules.
-
Going into my first party.
-
Hello everyone!
-
Wow, that dress is beautiful.
-
Wow, I think it's even lovelier than mine.
-
Rapunzel.
-
Okay, I probably will have to ask someone to help me.
-
I usually do.
-
Hi, could you do me a big favor and zip me up?
-
What?
-
And zip me up.
-
Oh, sure.
-
Thank you so much.
-
I just can't do it myself.
-
Thank you so much.Yeah, sure.
-
You're a pro.
-
Hi, princess!
-
Oh, my goodness I'm so happy to see you.
-
But then I didn't care because it was the best day ever!
-
Yay!
-
Bye, princess!
-
I am dead tired.
-
I'm not going to lie.
-
We went from North Hollywood to Tarzana, back to North Hollywood.
-
And then I had two parties in Beverly Hills very close to each other.
-
And now we're in Northridge and we are going to be done for the day after this.
-
Hi, Princess Riley!
-
Happy birthday!
-
Mother Gothel was so jealous of my hair that she stole me and put me in a tower.
-
I really try to bring the character to life.
-
With theater, it was all about me.
-
Look at me. Look at me.
-
But with this, it's like my job is to bring so much happiness to people.
-
Oh, yay!
-
Can anyone guess how we all lived?
-
Happily ever after!
-
Alright, good job!
-
It's not a job that you do forever, but I would really miss this job if one day I couldn't
-
do it anymore.
-
I'm hoping by the time I get there that I will just be tired of it.
-
But like, I haven't reached that point yet.
-
My parties start at 180 dollars an hour.
-
But a lot of that money goes back into business.
-
So this is not a job you get into if you want to be rich.
-
I definitely live very humbly, but it's worth it.
-
I'd rather be just making it by doing something I really love.
-
But definitely, it can be a little stressful.
-
I've been doing this five years already and I know that you know, my time is coming up.
-
And hopefully, when I reach that age, I'll be able to know when it's time to hang up the crown.
