  • Hi.

  • Welcome to show with the curry dot com island and I'm Bill, and we constantly get asked over and over.

  • When is your book coming out?

  • So today would like to introduce our book way.

  • Also like to introduce Dr Marriage Patel, who co authored this book with us, and we're super excited to share this with you.

  • Thank you very much.

  • So the reason that I started writing this book is I'm a medical resident and high in hospitals, and sometimes I'll see patients who are sick with diabetes or disease and at the end of the rope.

  • And it's that Meena sent to our team that they had known how to live a healthier lifestyle and eat better food.

  • They could have prevented getting sick in the first place.

  • You know, getting that's it.

  • So I kind of waas compelled to do some research and find out what are the ways between diet on help and find a lot of interesting discoveries.

  • This real simple changes to what you need every day.

  • Substituting brown rice for white rice.

  • Maybe one night out of three makes a huge difference in terms of decreasing risk of diabetes.

  • So as I was writing this, I realized Well, you know, I have a lot of cool information.

  • You're useful information, but nothing that's practical that people can easily use and make help your food on their own.

  • And that's when I was lucky to meet the both of y'all.

  • And, um, it was in collaboration with you too, that this came about right.

  • Very honored, because it is a great book.

  • It actually goes with all our philosophy.

  • Do all the time you mentioned all the time until they stay healthy.

  • Little changes convention take your long way.

  • We have all the science behind all the things you say all the time.

  • So to me, it seems like when we're older for most people that we see her older, they make these drastic changes to their diet.

  • And that doesn't have to be.

  • When you're younger, you make these simple changes simple and small changes.

  • You will never have to make a dressing change.

  • And chances are you'll be healthier.

  • Yeah, I think you're actually right.

  • You know, one of the interesting things that kept on popping up when I was doing research.

  • I was a medic.

  • Rainy night.

  • And how help you make between diabetes for your heart and the last night's show.

  • That isn't true.

  • And they looked at what, exactly about the Mediterranean diet so healthy?

  • And they say things like fish with a lot of fatty acids.

  • All a lot of mono unsaturated fats is also, and a couple of the components are like use of whole grains for making the breads and their bosses and and eating a lot of times, even things like nuts.

  • And as I was doing this, I realized, you know, I love met training a lot of people that do but get it every day.

  • I don't see most people doing.

  • You know, I started to ask myself to the Mediterranean diet baby, only diet that is good.

  • And the more recently, in more reading, I didn't realize you can't you know what it turns out is that most traditional diets that are based on plants and they're based on writing foods as they're found in nature or close to nature are actually pretty good for you, and that includes anything, right?

  • So, you know, there's three composed that I kind of want to talk about that are very elemental, especially traditional musings from that are very helpful for you.

  • Explain why first is brown rice and being with brown rice is that it's a whole dream.

  • So hold greens are full of nutrition, fiber and protein, and also what we see with white rice and white rice is run rice with everything taken out except for the what's called.

  • That's the starting point and started is a lot of energy, but nothing else.

  • So brown rice, actually itself can help you increase your risk of getting diabetes.

  • Have implemented gun rights in our diet.

  • My kids enjoy it.

  • Yes, so whenever we do make rice, it's done price.

  • So thanks for that, I think, in general, about fattening foods and healthy foods are a lot of misconceptions out there that anything that's fattening is back for you.

  • Prime example are nuts.

  • They're they're so good for you.

  • Yet people shy away from them because you know what that is.

  • That's the key.

  • Actually, you hit it on.

  • The new thing is with nuts.

  • Messer, full of good friends that's like that.

  • Yes, it's monounsaturated fats polyunsaturated fats, and it's been shown in many studies that actually having nuts on a regular basis things like Homans, Pistachios, Lawn.

  • It's of course, we reduces your risk of actually getting both heart disease and heart attacks.

  • And so this is healthy snack that you can eat and just had one more thing.

  • You know, the most quintessential part Indian food is the spices, and y'all know about that.

  • I just go on and stuff makes a 1,000,000 This one in particular, Top turmeric is probably the most healthy spice that we know that the science is actually showed us.

  • There's a guy named Bart well, Dr Anderson, and he's been doing research on turmeric for more than two decades.

  • And what he's found is that a component in turmeric called Cure human actually reduces the amount of information that helps cancer cells grow.

  • The bottom line is that cure cumin and turmeric actually helps prevent the growth of cancer.

  • You got a few cells that might be cancerous, but this kind of stuff that's in your bloodstream will actually help it not becoming, too, which is what things.

  • And they believe that other spices have similar properties, student, and it produces a little information.

  • Great information Raj has given us.

  • It's all there in the book and a lot more details about pulses, maybe too much detail for something, you know.

  • The thing is, you get the basic idea, but it's amazing, you know, because we don't keep promoting all these greens and everything, but we don't mean never ever stop to think why.

  • So this is this makes so much sense because he actually putting make sense of your cooking inside, just cooking it, you know?

  • Oh, this vegetable is on sale.

  • Let me just buy it.

  • But why are you buying that?

  • Why you're making why do you wanna feed your family?

  • That I think that's really, really important.

  • So in addition to all the science behind are healthy foods.

  • We have 31 recipes in here as well.

  • Delicious recipes that will kind of show you how to put all the science into a delicious meal for your family.

  • A person that cooks Sometimes I was really impressed with the way that you guys take healthy stuff, healthy ingredients and actually make the same sort of Indian recipes that I grew up but helping.

  • So we're so honored and have to be a part of this book.

  • Wonderful.

  • Thank you.

  • You know, it's a big honor for me that you'll also decided to help with this.

  • Put this together.

  • And there was really great to find out that, you know, people who are making recipes and have thousands of people watching on the same wavelength understand the importance of introducing healthy two people.

  • So we have all the stuff that we've covered today a lot more inside in the book of recipes to go with it.

  • We have a link on our website on YouTube video so you can go click on it.

  • Five yourself, Read it by somebody you care.

  • I get it.

  • It's a fabulous book, Rather information.

  • So thanks again.
