  • Hello, my beauty.

  • And finally back with another self love slash self development slashed things that would deal with on a daily basis subject that I've been kind of been battling my whole life and I feel like talking about it.

  • We'll hopefully will make you feel like they're not alone If you guys are new here.

  • Welcome to my channel.

  • This is a safe space for love in fashion and beauty and everything Fun and cute and amazing.

  • And I love you guys.

  • And if you have been a subscribing a supporter for awhile, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

  • Honestly, you guys are fueling me to ah, whole other level.

  • This specific topic is about the impostor syndrome.

  • Mustard syndrome is the state that you go in that no matter where you add in your career, no matter how great you're doing, you always feel like you don't belong.

  • You always feel like a fraud.

  • You always have this in the back of your mind thinking that they're going to expose me and know that I don't belong here.

  • This has honestly been hunting me my whole life.

  • If it waas in school when I would get good grades.

  • I would just feel like, honestly, I just got lucky Then it wasn't modeling where I wasn't the right height, and I didn't necessarily look like a classic model.

  • I always felt like they going to look at me twice and be like, What is she doing here?

  • She doesn't belong.

  • That really followed me my whole life.

  • The biggest highlight was when I started with my social media journey because I just felt like everyone else knew what they were doing.

  • And I was just there trying to keep up every success that I've had.

  • I attribute it to either luck or other people just not being sharp enough to call my bluff and at first identified it as part of my insecurities.

  • The impostor syndrome is not necessarily connected to self worth issues or two insecurities.

  • It's more about this psychological.

  • There's a definition of psychological pattern in which an individual doubts their accomplishments and has a persistent, internalized fear of being exposed as a fraud.

  • There are so many different people around the world, women and men that experience it on a daily basis.

  • Some of the most talented, wonderful people like Albert Einstein and Maya Angelou, whose my personal hero has voice kind of.

  • They're dealing with imposter syndrome.

  • So it definitely something that hits a lot of us, and maybe talking about it will make us understand that it really is just a monologue.

  • And this is not We are for me personally.

  • I think it finally hit me when I was just in Paris Fashion week again.

  • I was in a situation where I just felt like I don't deserve to be here.

  • I looked at the other people around very influential people, other people from the industry.

  • I just looked around and I noticed myself thinking, What am I doing here?

  • Who brought me here?

  • Who am I?

  • I don't know what the hell I'm doing.

  • It was the first time where I just sent there, and I told myself, You deserve to be here.

  • You're someone that is, you know, establish themselves as an authority in the social media space and they invited you.

  • Although there's millions other people who's doing this, they invited you to be part of this experience, so that means that you have to offer and you deserve to be here.

  • This is me talking to myself by doing.

  • At that point, I promised myself that I won't let this imposter syndrome stop me from focusing on all the things that I do have to offer.

  • Instead of concentrating on all the things that I find that I don't do good enough compared to others, I'm gonna share the steps with you that hopefully you can incorporate into your daily life to make you feel like you're are not a fraud.

  • This imposter syndrome has been getting some spotlight recently.

  • Like Forbes magazine actually reported that 70% off people are battling this imposter syndrome.

  • So first thing to remember, you are not alone.

  • There are 70% of the world feeling this way.

  • I know that.

  • Maybe it's doesn't necessarily solve the problem, but maybe kind of comforts you, knowing that everyone else battles it too.

  • So I think the first thing is actually talking about it When I was in New York, that's kind of where this thought and me getting deeper with my thoughts into this whole imposter syndrome situation.

  • It made me start asking questions from other people in my space around me that understand the kind of my line of work and a great example, as I did a collaboration video with Chris Elham, who is a huge, you know, influence in the social media world.

  • And in my opinion, like the O.

  • G.

  • On social media, you know, ask her the question.

  • Do you feel have you ever felt like an imposter?

  • So yeah, now they're building something new.

  • I feel like an impulse every day.

  • I'm like, What am I doing?

  • Where who am I doing to my Are people gonna actually believe me everyday?

  • But I love it so much she 100% could relate even asking her that question, Someone that I respect was really helpful to hear that she's been battling it as well and still has these thoughts coming into her head talking about it.

  • It's always a great way to just feel like you're not a little.

  • The second thing that I love to do when this imposter syndrome is kind of taking over my thoughts is to listen to other people.

  • When you have people that care about you people that can give you constructive criticism, people that you know they can recognize and compliment you and tell you that you're doing amazing.

  • And you're actually doing a great job.

  • They're not standing there in lying to you.

  • So I think that getting that validation and actually observing those compliments that feedback is really good for you.

  • Because you know what?

  • This is not all in your head outside.

  • People that are not in your mind are.

  • They're telling you that you're doing great.

  • And this is also a great lesson to remember that you know what?

  • We should do that for other people.

  • A swell.

  • I think that it's so important for that human connection to voice those things and to give those affirmations to other people.

  • My third kid, that is my absolute favorite have a little box of, like, heip me pipe of messages to yourself.

  • So I like to record different accomplishments and different milestones in my life for me.

  • I put it on my phone because I'm gonna notes if you even have a little jar that you can put these little notes there.

  • And whenever you feel inadequate, whenever if you like, you don't belong.

  • You can kind of open a note and see a milestone accomplishment that you did that will kind of again validate the fact that you deserve to be where you are that you worked hard, that you accomplish certain things.

  • Get your hype me up less together.

  • Keep it close to you.

  • I know.

  • I need multiple times a day to open my list to be like you're a bad bitch.

  • Malaria.

  • Is that a bad word?

  • Enough.

  • You gonna people can't say anything else, but bitch bitch is like Tip number four is Take your time.

  • And by that I mean, no one's becoming a master overnight and live in the society.

  • Now that you know, you see everyone's highlight reels.

  • You compare yourself to people that just in your opinion, just got there so fast.

  • But you don't know their journey.

  • You don't know what they've been through.

  • And if you have the guts to do tip number one and actually go and ask, you'll be surprised to learn that they probably still battling with this imposter syndrome every single day.

  • Give yourself that grace period of just like learning something, mastering something, becoming good and something there's a journey to any destination.

  • So keeping that in mind, it's so important to become an expert in anything you actually and this is like I think, been proven.

  • You actually have to practice it for 10 1000 hours.

  • So the next time when you're doing something and you know it's not good enough, just don't expect to be amazing at every single thing that you pick up from the get go.

  • That literally doesn't happen unless you, Jennifer Aniston and you're joining Instagram and get like 10 million followers in, like one day.

  • So But even there did you see how long it took her to build her career?

  • She had freaking deserve 10 million followers.

  • In one day you get a Jennifer Aniston.

  • These are the tips that I honestly, he used that are just a good reminder to myself to stop limiting myself and letting all these amazing opportunities that have worked really hard for you to come my way.

  • Think about the words that you use when you talk to yourself.

  • No one knows what the hell they're doing, so just give him it.

  • Let me know if you ever battled this imposter syndrome and in what area in your life I am really curious.

  • Thank you guys so much for watching and I'll see you guys next time.

  • If you got so much logic.
