  • So you may be wondering why would we engage in exercise like this?

  • Well, in reciting the sentence over and over in your head, you're gonna help to commit it to memory.

  • And my hope is that you're gonna walk away from this video able to reproduce a similar sentence in your own writing.

  • All right, so let's start writing our essay.

  • So the first sentence in our essay is designing the layouts of a new town is an extremely intricate process.

  • Okay, so read that sentence over.

  • Designing the layout of a new town is an extremely intricate process.

  • Okay, And there goes.

  • It is gone.

  • Now, let's bring these three sentences up here.

  • All right?

  • So which of the sentences matches?

  • The one that I just wrote?

  • Designing Ali out of a new town is an extremely intricate process.

  • Designing the layout of a new town is an extremely intricate process.

  • Okay.

  • And the answer is sentenced number two.

  • That was theory.

  • Jinnah ll sentence now just the notes that all of the sentences that I'm including here are grammatically correct.

  • But I'm just trying to, um, to just work on your memory and help you sort of remember, the exact phrasing that that is is used to create the sentences for this particular essay.

  • All right, so let's go to sentence number two, um, the question of what should and should not be included.

  • Um, sets the foundation of the towns.

  • Ah, identity forever.

  • Okay.

  • The question of what should and should not be included sets the foundation of the town's identity forever.

  • All right.

  • And there it goes.

  • Now, have a look at these three sentences.

  • You should come up a moment.

  • Yeah.

  • Okay, there we go.

  • Okay.

  • So the question of what should and should not be included sets the foundation of the town's identity forever.

  • The question of what should and should not be included sets the foundation since a foundation for the town's identity forever.

  • The question of what should or should not be included sets the foundation of the town's identity forever.

  • So which of these versions did we see in that sentence that I just wrote?

  • And the answer is the 1st 1 So the question of what should and should not be included sets the foundation of the town's identity forever.

  • Okay, so let's put that into our essay as sentenced.

  • Number two.

  • All right.

  • Sentence number three.

  • In my opinion, the addition of public parks, shopping malls and sports facilities is essential to the incubation of community and the encouragement, uh, healthy lifestyles Okay, So in my opinion, the addition of public parks, shopping malls and sports facilities is essential to the incubation of community and the encouragement of healthy lifestyles.

  • All right, so I hope you have that one.

  • Let's take that away and bring up our options.

  • So here they are.

  • In my opinion, the addition of public parks, shopping malls and sports facilities is essential to the incubation of community and the encouragement of healthy lifestyles.

  • Or maybe option number two.

  • In my opinion, the addition of public parks, shopping malls and sports facilities is essential to the formation of community and the encouragement of healthy lifestyles or number three.

  • In my opinion, the addition of public parks, shopping malls and sports facilities is essential to both the incubation of community and the encouragement of healthy lifestyles.

  • So which of those three sentences, um, is the one that I just typed?

  • And the answer here is the first version.

  • So let's inputs that into our essay.

  • Okay, so in my opinion, the addition of public parks, shopping malls and sports facilities is essential to the incubation of community and the encouragement of healthy lifestyles.

  • Uh, okay.

  • Now let's get to our next sentence.

  • I thus agree that these items should be included when a new town is being, um planned.

  • And I will, uh, share examples to prove this.

  • Okay, So that sentences I've s agree that these items should be included when a new town is being planned.

  • And I will share examples to prove this so sort of a combination of a thesis with the outline sentence.

  • Okay.

  • Do you think you have that one?

  • Let's delete it and see if you can recall it.

  • And Caesar, a scroll down to three.

  • I disagree that these items should be included when new towns are being planned.

  • And I will share examples to prove this or I thus agree that these items are best included when a new town is being planned and I will share examples to prove this or I just agree that these items should be included when a new town is being planned and I will share examples to prove this.

  • Okay.

  • And the answer here is the 3rd 1 See, that's noted on my paper anyways, but yes.

  • So the last sentence was the version that I taped in the essay.

  • Good.

  • So I hope you got those four correct will continue with the rest of us, but I just want to read through the introduction paragraph so you can kind of see the way that the sentence is sort of flow together.

  • Designing the layout of a new town is an extremely intricate process.

  • The question of what should and should not be included sets the foundation of the town's identity forever.

  • In my opinion, the addition of public parks, shopping malls and sports facilities is essential to the incubation of community and the encouragement of healthy lifestyles.

  • I just agree that these items should be included when a new town is being planned, and I will share examples to prove this.

  • Okay, so then we carry on to our first supporting paragraph.

  • So let me east just skip lying here.

  • So the first sentence is firstly, public parts and shopping centers help new towns foster a sense of community.

  • Okay, firstly, public parks and shopping centers help Newtown's foster a sense of community.

  • All right, Do you think you have it?

  • Let's delete it, see if you can identify it in this list.

  • There we go first.

  • The public parks and shopping centers help Newtown's foster a sense of community.

  • Now let's carry on with examples.

  • For example, my small Canadian town has a very decent park near its center.

  • For example, my small Canadian town has very nice park near its center, for example, our small Canadian town has a very nice park near its center.

  • And yes, of course, the answer is the middle one here.

  • I think I might have given it away when I was reading out those options, but anyway, so let's input that here.

  • So, for example, My small Canadian town has a very nice park near its center.

  • The open context of the park environment makes it possible for people to meet each other and create friendships.

  • And the sentence you saw was the 3rd 1 here at weekends.

  • Now on weekends is a possible way to say it.

  • A zay said all of the sentences I'm showing you today are grammatically correct, but on weekends is more of a North American way to refer to the period of the weekend.

  • So at weekends is is the British way.

  • And that is the original version that I used in this essay.

  • So let's carry on.

  • Um okay.

  • Okay, so this sort of organic community building has seen in my hometown's shopping mall, too.

  • Um, now we're gonna carry on.

  • Just explain the idea of the shopping mall a bit further, how it's the, uh, a form for communities in a way.

  • So shopping malls encourage interaction.

  • Um, and thus they are great forums within which people uh can mingle and have experiences that's could evolved into friendships.

  • I was looking at my paper, as I taught as they wrote these so experiences.
